hedonism is good actually rich people just suck at it
i think not only do we have a moral obligation to preserve human life but also a moral obligation to maximize the pleasure of others and ourselves (provided it doesn’t hurt anyone)
people don’t just deserve to eat food, they deserve to eat good food that tastes good without worrying about nutritional content
people don’t just deserve clothes, they deserve nice clothes that are well made and fit their personal style
people don’t just deserve the bare minimum, they don’t just deserve to be alive, they deserve to live and have nice things for no other reason than making that particular person happy
and remember!! hedonism isn't just about lazy pleasures!! although it is a lot of that and that's wonderful! people deserve to enjoy exercise and have the time to do it! they deserve to be taught it as a joyous passtime, not just a punishing Thing You Have To Do. they deserve to do work that feels good, and to be properly prepared for it - well fed, well rested, and allotted proper time and tools!
they deserve to feel proud of the things the accomplish, to look forward to their next project, to find pleasure in motivation! they deserve to enjoy without shame or guilt. the man who genuinely loves to clear out sewers all day should be well within his right to express how much he loves it! the guy with the anime body pillow wife should similarly be able to express that joy without shame or guilt for the simple act of being unusual! and hey. you know what would make it a whole lot easier to enjoy those colorful nicknacks you don't need and the good food and the comfy cozy beds and the fun pretty clothes? if people weren't suffering to produce those things. if the people who work so hard to make those things and bring them to you were safe, and well-fed, and well-rested, and given ample free time and fun things just as you. fight for that, babes.
