Steps for ‘Paper Stars’
Newest piece entitled 'Paper Stars'. Based off that feeling of creating a false façade that keeps you from moving forward. Something a bit different! I really struggled to get this painting off and running. This is the second time I repainted it. I'm far more happy with it. 😉
steps for my ‘Donkeyskin’ Piece. C: This process when by much smoother than a few others. I’m going to try and work with my texture in the future, I like the look it gives. u.u
This piece is based off of the fairytale Donkeyskin. It's a tale about a girl that goes into hiding working the kitchen wearing a coat made of many animals(or Donkey in the OG tale). However she has 3 beautiful dresses(this is the one that is made of 'the sun') that she wears in secret, where she eventually is able to woe a prince. I don't want to give too much away if you want to read it for yourself! Anyways! I was thinking of trying to give it more that 1920's flare. In some versions, the coat is made of all the animals in the kingdom, not just donkey, so that's my design for this one here. I think I want to do a few more from this tale, I enjoyed making this one very much. I gotta make the full 3 dresses! Sorry I've been a bit MIA for a while. A lot of life changes happened the past couple of months, so personal works been taking a bit of a back seat for me. I'm doing my best right now to find a process in my personal work that comes more natural but also doesn't become overworked and take longer because I question every step.😥 Wish me luck! lol
Process for the No Face bookmark~~😊😊😊
Something new!
I wanted to make a bookmark that kinda matched the Tororo one in representing different characters from the Ghibli franchise. I also thought with Totoro green, and Howl pink/purple this guy might have to be blue! I'm pretty happy with the end results. I think I could have thrown a few extra characters in there, maybe for another update 5 years from now. 😊
Process coming tomorrow for those interested!
Here he is in all his evolutions! It's so strange because when I opened the 2013 file all I thought was 'there is no way I can make this look better'. I think I found a way to make some improvements tho. 😊 Howl isn't Howl without looking majestic/mysterious in some way.
New and improved(tm) Howl bookmark! I'll post the process tomorrow. (fb won't let me add videos to photo posts)
I realized while painting this that it had been a while since I painted a dude. Should probably work on that. 😆
Another redraw of an old bookmark! Very happy with the result, it's much more colorful than the original I think. 😊 I went on a kick and brushed up another bookmark, as well as made a NEW one! (wat new??) Stay tuned!
She's finally done! 🥳🥳 Pretty happy with the result, a few things could be done better. Tried to paint something that wasn't pink and purple so how about yellow and turquoise instead? Took forever to finish cause I just did not like painting the cats. Not my strongest point.😆😆 I enjoyed painting her a lot tho, she kept me wanting to finish the piece.
Sometimes I just wanna escape in the clouds and float away~ 😌
I finally finished my Snow White bookmark! The Queen was the more difficult of the two, I didn't know what I wanted to do. I also didn't mean for her to be so purple/pink, but it makes for a nice bookmark I think. ^^
Ohhh what could this be??? Working on some things for a shop update I'm excited to share in the next coming weeks! 😊😊
It's my birthday! 🥳🥳 17 years ago today I got a tablet for my birthday, and thus started my digital art journey. I thought it would be cool to show a quick rundown of my art journey from then to now! I hope everyone has a wonderful day~
Some Ghibli art! More old art I decided to spruce up. Kiki is probably my favorite out of the bunch. I need to start re-watching all the movies on HBO max!
What is your favorite Ghibli movie? I think I would have to say Kiki...but Spirited Away is way up there too. 🤔🤔
A repaint of my old stickers!! I wanted to make more stickers, and found these (by the hocus pocus ones) and omg did some of them need a redo! Pretty happy with their new results!
Here are the steps to the newest piece 'Spring'.
I worked on this piece on and off and through weird stages of my life, I'm really not sure what to think of it. It's kinda fun to peel back all the layers and see the change in color and mood.. 🌼ETSY 🌼www.keriruediger.com 🌼instagram
