Incase you didn’t know I am on discord. BUT where the school year has ended and I am on the hunt for a new school to teach at, I have some free time. But here is the thing, I want to do a verity if threads.
Fun, silly, angst, love, sad, all the things.
So if you have ideas.... hit me up? Yeah?
But dealing with the shit show of my life at the moment.
Exams, my dog needs surgery, and the shooting that happened in my complex this weekend.
I want to say spring break. But let’s be real... summer.
And that makes me sad.
I know there’s a lot of tension after Tumblr’s new policy annouced for December 17th, but reblog this if you aren’t leaving Tumblr so that other blogs can know they aren’t going to be completely alone!
I have every intention of seeing this site out to it’s last dying breath.

I was just semi-complaining that I was still looking for a decent way to backup my +6k posts without having to use paid services or even just wordpress (which has an import from tumblr tool that asks for permission to access your blog and also make posts), when I decided to actually put some effort into my google search.
*By which I mean: everything that I have ever posted. Not included: drafts, queue, likes, followers, following, comments, notes, chat.
I followed this method (word by word), and now have a 450 MB folder on my computer with the name of my blog on it containing:
1. Folder “Archive” (contains .html files listed by month) 2. Folder “Media” (contains gifs and images, mine has +1k files in it; might contain also audios but I have no way of confirming that because I’ve never reblogged an audio post from this blog) 3. Folder “Posts” (contains single .html files, each one a post; I have +4k files in it) 4. Folder “Theme” (contains only my avatar, but it might be a matter of if you have personalized themes or not) 5. .html file “Index” (by opening it it will give you the archive of your blog organized by month; clicking on a month will open up the archive for that month, and you’ll be able to read all the posts for that month as if you were on your blog**, except sans your theme graphic, with each page containing 50 posts)
**I can see gifs, links, embedded videos, tags, number of notes (but I can’t open up the notes, clearly), text is also correctly formatted.
So yeah, in case anyone wants a very quick way to back up their blog, it took me less than 10 minutes.
P.S. I didn’t have any issue, but to be on the safe side always check for spyware and virus threats before and after downloading anything.
this is actually really useful if you have an art blog full of years of work that you otherwise no longer have access to the original files. A lot of the art I have in the early days of my art blog are in that boat. I did this process JUST for that reason and I was pretty astonished at just how many pieces of media it backs up! (literally all of it) Drawings I didn’t even realize were sitting in my archive due to having been posted to text posts or undercuts, or untagged for years! It’s worth it if just for that, even if tumblr isn’t shutting down or deleting your blog.

My things have changed since then.

While the golden apples gave one immortality for a few thousand years. The elixir was gave one the powers of an Aesir. To make them just as strong and capable as any pure bred.
“That is a good question with a complicated answer. Your mother was a strong woman and didn’t want to rely on that when giving birth. She made the choice to hold off on taking the apple and elixir. Unfortunately, she passed before she was able to take either after you were born.” She paused thinking about how to work the answer for the next question.
“Modi. You have been training right? Even now you match with your brother. When the time comes and your father gives you the choice to have the elements, you will already be strong. And that is the strength you earned. Not one that was simply given to you.”

So I don’t even remember what my last update was >.> and I apologize for that.
So Let me just hit some the of the significant points.
1. Its officially been 1 year since my car drowned in Hurricane Irma. I still haven't replaced it, but I am okay in the little Prius that the family had and was not using.
2. I lost my job and spent the summer looking for a new one. Which I did. Finally made a move to teaching in a public school rather than private. Not as much stress but a lot to do. (Like some test I need to take.)
3. I got diagnosed with Chrons disease. That has been fun. NOT.
4. Moved to a new Apartment. Love it here, my living room as a view of the nature reserve and lake.
5. I am nearly independent from my father money wise now... almost. Its a long drawn out process.
6. I meet Peter Capaldi!! I will put a photo under the cut.
7. I turned 26.
8. Last week I was hospitalized for a kidney infection. I have lost 10 pounds since then. IDK why but I’ll take it. I also lost health insurance 2 days after getting out of the hospital. If you turn 26 in the united states and on your family’s plan, you get kicked off no matter what the first of the month after your birthday. And my work doesn’t provide health insurance until November. So I hope this kidney infection goes away.
I know I have said this before, but I will repeat it, I plan on becoming more active here. I have the muse, it has just been a time thing. And when you get super sick, you sleep a lot more than you think. Plus work. So I want to do a new theme overhaul and start being ‘Mom’ around here again.

I do have a discord, but I find it gives me a lot of anxiety, So many noises it makes and oh that stresses me out. But I am working on being on there more too.

For the record I just want to say that I am starting work at a new public school. Which it will be new for me in a few different ways. I’ve only ever worked at private schools so looking at a public school it’s super intimidating. And honestly the amount of things I have to do is quite intimidating. So if youre a praying sort feel free to Add me to your list. Because mentally it’s going to be a whole new ballgame for me.
So I’ve seen the post he’s talking about around tumblr and twitter, but haven’t seen this on tumblr. I think it’s worth sharing.

Fan : When I was 19 I had my third book published and… I kind of used you as an inspiration for one of my main characters in the book. So this is kind of me just saying thank you for like just being you so I could use you as that character.

I went on a date yesterday, now yes I told the date I wrote books, and other things, but I never told him about this video. Well apparently before the date he found this video on YouTube and told me, he thought it was great!
I watch this video and wonder how many times I said “ummm”! Being a teacher I know how to talk in a crowed, but I can’t watch this video and think I did a good job here.
I am so glad that I got this chance, and that Tom showed interest in me while I was talking. I remember being told not long after, on here (tumblr) by someone who knew me, was watching and was messaging me in a mad dash, how they thought Tom was rude and dismissive to me.
I can’t say one way or another, but I got to talk to him, tell him about my books, and his influence on me.
