I think the most Slytheriny Slytherin there ever was was Slughorn. He was so freaking ambitious, but he wasn’t a particularly great wizard himself. So he cultivated a little following of great wizards to do all the work for him. He was never evil or mean or cruel like a dark wizard though. He got all this sway in powerful places because he was nice to, encouraged, and manipulated powerful wizards when they were young. And then he literally never had to do anything for the rest of his life. All these great wizards just gave him free stuff and listened to his opinions on politics and business because he had been their mentor. If anyone was being a Slytherin the right way, it was this guy.

For years he only agrees to give interviews to Potterwatch, and they’re all on silly subjects. “Ginny made me degnome the garden, but I’m rather bad at it, so I have to pay my kids in chocolate frogs to do it, they just augmented their prices…”  Sometimes when he gets bored he calls Lee: “Hey, I got an exclusive for you, I just learned how to change a diaper one-handed!” and somehow Potterwatch becomes a parenting show?

I just realized the second task in the Triwizard Tournament was the swimsuit contest.

we have so much to look forward to! who knows what the future holds? who knows if i’ll meet someone tomorrow, next week, who’ll become incredibly important to me. or if an opportunity will come around that’ll change my life. tomorrow could be the best day of my life! and there’s always a chance the next day will be even better! there will be times ahead of me where i’ll be laughing so hard that my stomach hurts and there’ll be tears in my eyes, and times where the sun will shine brightly down at me and the birds will be singing and the grass will somehow look greener than it did seconds before. Times where i’ll be filled with joy and times i’ll be filled with love. there will always be good times ahead of us, and i can’t wait to experience them!
