This little bug has thoroughly stolen my heart.
you now how dnd have a Kenku race, they re usually seen as a crows,
but
what if there was other kind of birds,
a Cockatiel to be exact
After someone posted this in our D&D Discord chat, I just had to make a race variant based on the art. Here’s the Tieltu:
Tieltu are cheerful, social, and have love being the center of the attention. They are able to mimic anything after hearing it once, from jokes to songs to riddles. Their keen eyes are good at spotting potential audiences, and their ability to bluff others with their mimicked voices is well-known
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Age. Tieltu reach adulthood in their teens and live about as long as humans.
Alignment. Because their survival depends on how social they are, most Tieltu lean towards the Neutral Good alignment. They tend to be a race of bards, but they also make good clerics and paladins due their good natures.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Clear Mind, Clear Voice. You have advantage on Charisma saving throws.
Mimicry. You can mimic any sounds you have heard, including voices. This talent extends to handwriting. A creature that hears your sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful Wisdom (Insight) check, and a creature that sees your forgery can tell it is a forgery with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check. The DCs of these checks are each equal to 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Voice of Recall. You have proficiency in the Performance skill.
Languages. You understand Common and Auran, but can only speak through your Mimicry trait.

WHAT ARE BIRDS
Hello yes! A Science Birb, here to explain the science!
Birb have VERY LARGE EYE in skull. Very good for seeing! But not space for muscle, birb cannot move eye. For mammal to make steady image, keep focus on single thing, always moving eye! Tiny movements, sometimes not even know. But birb cannot make tiny movements! So, birb must move whole head. And that is why the birb can keep steady the head when the body is amovering!
Thank you for listening to a science
I’m crying
That was the greatest scientific explanation I have ever read

My name is Bond…
this fucking bird did not just do what it did
OMG!
This bird is so important
Several weeks ago I made a shadowbox to celebrate our birdies. It was a few weeks before Betsy passed, so I have a pic of her posing with it. I just hadn’t posted it to the blog yet.
I used tiny pins to keep the feathers in place. Craft paper and scrapbook tape to hold together the rest. The cockatiel sticker is a random old sticker my mom found - probably from when I was a kid, I’m sure they don’t make them anymore!
It was pretty simple and fun and now I have a nice memento of my bird friends.
OFFEND!!!
