          those last moments–

they seem to feel like a life time–maybe because as we fall our      lives flash before our eyes. mine did–but my thoughts always      came back to you.

                            i never blamed you.

                                          not once.

the moments we shared, everything i learned from you–the moments       we would never get to have. the life we would never get to have.

                                       peter–

you will always be my path.

The Blonde, and The Spider

Letting out a laugh at her comment, the brunette placed his chin to the top of her head, letting her get as comfortable as she possibly could. "A bank? Could you possibly see Spider-Man as a bank teller? Using my abilities to help the community that way?" He questioned, a light laugh escaping his lips once more.

After the quiet laughs, he became semi-serious. "You know why I do what I do. I wish you didn't worry as much but-" he cut himself short, reaching a hand up to run his fingers through her blonde locks.

He hated that he put her through this on a daily basis. The worrying on if he would ever slip through her window like he usually did. Worrying if she'd flick on the tv and see his lifeless body plastered on the news for everyone to see. "I'm sorry." He chose his words carefully. "No one should have to live like that." He sighed, trying to avoid the oncoming self torment he always placed upon himself.

Peter's eyebrows rose instantly as soon as he caught onto what Gwen was going on about. "Hey calm down." He spoke softly, leaning over so that his nose was only a mere inches from her own.

"You of all people know.." He started, his eyes holding hers to show his sincerity. "I would never leave you Gwen. You know that. Even if I have to crawl to you, just know no matter what, I'll always come back to you. Okay?"

He pushed himself to his feet, sliding into the bed with her, pulling his blonde into his arms. He wanted to lighten the mood badly, Peter couldn't take seeing her like this, and these moods tended to bring out the worst in Peter. "You know, my heartbeat, I'm pretty sure you can hear it. As long as yours is beating, mines will too." He promised her in a hushed tone.

Peter landed on the familiar fire escape, re-slinging his backpack across his broad shoulders. He had a doughnut stuffed in his mouth, chewing quickly before he would make his entrance into Gwen's room.

Swallowing loudly, he slid her window open, sliding into her room as he usually did. Before he was sure that she had noticed his presence, his name randy loud and clear in his head. 'Peter.' Usually he'd answer with a goofy remark or such, but the tone of her voice made him rethink the notion.

"Right here." He breathed lowly, not sure if Miss Stacy or Gwen's brothers were awake or not. It was early, but not early enough where they wouldn't be up and about. He furrowed his brows together as he crossed over to her bed, kneeling in front of it to her level. "What's wrong?" His brown eyes distressed as he searched her face.

Once he heard her light snores against the skin of his neck, he untangled himself from the blonde, positioning her on the bed the best he could. Brown eyes glazed over her sleeping form, love filling his eyes completely.

He moved to pull one of her many blankets over her, leaning over to press his lips to the side of her temple. "Love you, more than life." He whispered against her skin before pulling away and heading towards her window, shooting a look back as if to promise his return upon her awakening.

Now that she was sound asleep, he could run home and change quickly, as well as checking in with Aunt May. He hoped to be back before she awoke again in a few hours. With one quick motion, he slid open her window, and his figure got lost in the night.

          “Surprised?

Disbelief dripped from her mouth, emerald eyes following the brunette as he  laid down in her lap. Worry continued to crease her forehead, even as Peter’s calming touch swept across her jawline.

“I was worried about you. I             can’t sleep unless I know,              one hundred percent, that             you’re okay.

Yes, this worry deprived her of many hours of sleep and yes, she would catch  herself drifting off at work– but such was the life of SpiderMan’s girlfriend. Hands carded through thick locks, thumbs brushing against Peter’s hairline as he rested in her lap.

He huffed a light sigh at his love, furrowing his thick brows at her. He couldn't even be mad at her, if the situation was reversed, he couldn't tell her he wouldn't be in the same position. "I'm sorry Gwen." He apologized sincerely, his eyes locking with hers.

"I'm safe, you know that now. Now time for bed, you." He told her, sitting up reluctantly. He loved the attention she gave him; he often lived for it. But her well-being was much more important to him.

He gave her a playful smirk, deciding to capture her attention for a bit longer. With all the running around in a blue and red spandex suit, they never had the one-on-one time he craved so badly. Lowering his head, the boy pressed himself into her, resting his forehead on her shoulder, inhaling her wonderful scent. "Mmm, I love you." He mumbled sleepily.

This was why her sleeping  schedule was so messed up. He was the reason she couldn’t sleep at night– worrying over whether or not he was still alive, glancing at her phone and then her window every few minutes in search of evidence that Peter was okay. So hearing the window suddenly open didn’t make her jump, but rather brought about a sigh of relief, despite the condition he was in.

Phone was left on her bed as she came over to him, hands gently cupping his cheeks in concern before she snuck out of  the room to grab a makeshift icepack. Returning, Gwen handed the towel-covered ice to Peter, brows anxiously furrowed as she sat beside him.

          “Are you okay?

“Yeah.“ He replies simply, taking the icepack from her and placing it to his face, scrunching up his eyebrows as he did so. “Just got...surprised, is all.” He shrugged, not really wanting to go into detail about the encounter. He usually tried to leave all of the details out if he could. Would save Gwen the extra worry.

Once finished with the icepack, he tossed it over to the floor, a smile sliding across his face. He wanted to lighten the mood, and change the subject before Gwen questioned him further. She’d worry about it all night if he let her.

Doe eyes trailing to her emerald ones, Peter shifted himself so he could lay across her lap, lifting his hand to trace it upon her jawline. “The real question is, why are you still up? It’s late Gwen.”

With a light crash onto Gwen’s fire escape, the brown haired boy peeked into the window of his beloved, sighing to himself when he found that she was still awake, her fingers drumming on her phone screen.

He knew what she was waiting for, a call, a text, something that would inform her that he was safe. Sucking in a breath, he slid her window open, clambering in, giving her his goofy smile despite the bruises on his face when she laid eye on him.

Gwen stared at the masked body laying on the edge on the river.  “No…” she whispered before running to him.  “Peter!” Gwen yelled pulling him into her arms.  “Hey- hey I’m here.  I’m right here…it’s all going to be alright.  I’m here now see?  I’m here.”

A slight moan escaped from behind the mask, Peter's chest heaving as he was trying to catch his breath. He could feel himself fading fast, not actually remembering why he was fighting for his life. "Gwen?" He managed to croak out as he could feel himself shuffle into her arms.

Romance and Jealousy: The Perfect Combination

"Gwendolyn." The word flowed off his tongue easily, though he never used her full name but on rare occasions. Such as this. He gave her a look to build up nervousness in her girlfriend, a quiet smirk sliding into his face before he parted his lips to speak again. "Do you even-" he started, deciding not even to finish.

He was on his feet in an instant, pulling the blonde up with him. He ducked down to slide his arm behind her knees, swooping her off her feet and into his arms. In one quick motion, he was from the chair and to the bed, pressing her on top of it. He had fought off this urge long enough, and now that he had confirmed that Gwen had wanted to as well, he wasted no time.

He kissed hungrily at her lips, hovering over her as he inhaled a breath, his mind swirling at the scent of her. He had wanted Gwen so badly, and now he couldn't even think of what to command his body to do, even though he has played this thousands of time in his head.

"Hmm?" He breathed against her neck before pulling away also to look at her. Her next question had him gulping lightly, his face burning a little. "You mean like.." He stammered, getting a little flustered, though he wasn't sure why. Of course he knew what she was getting at, and of course he had thought about it. It hadn't just crossed his mind, he had often wondered if Gwen had ever wanted to.

Peter took an extremely long moment to answer her, but he wanted to think out his answer, before blurting out something he would actually regret. "Of course I have Gwen. Probably more times I would like to admit." He shrugged, trying to sound indifferent. Though his heart was giving him away.

The organ beat rapidly against his chest, overthinking her question completely. But taking this step would only further deepen their relationship, and then, he would forever have his claim on Gwen Stacy.
