can i be so embarrassingly honest with you. my entire life i thought that everyone experienced pain or at least discomfort in their bodies literally all the time and that they were just better at ignoring it than i was. i really did genuinely think that. my ENTIRE LIFE. the idea of living your day to day life without even any discomfort is so crazy to me it actually makes me mad at this point like FUCK you???
the stuff going on at columbia campus rn is genuinely incredible
despite mass arrests by NYPD and several students (including rep ilhan omar’s daughter, isra hirsi) being suspended for their participation and having their university identification deactivated, the gaza solidarity encampment is still going strong well into its second day. def recommend following independent reporter talia jane who is taking part and providing live updates. (talia was the first reporter to break aaron bushnell’s self immolation in february; she was one of the reporters he contacted personally prior to the protest.)

We got new nametags at work. They're magnetic. They come with a warning that says to not use them if you have a pacemaker.
I do not have a pacemaker.
Every time I put my nametag on, I think, "oh no, what if I have a pacemaker?" As if, somehow, I may have forgotten getting a pacemaker? Or maybe someone secretly gave me one?
Every time, I'm stressed out.
I heard the story about the guy who took a loaded gun in when his mother was getting an mri and it shot him and he died. Now when i get an mri i worry that i have a gun on me
The guy at the reception desk today called me "young lady." I said, "Actually, I'm a young man." He apologized and all was well.
But when I walked away, I suddenly remembered that I'm a middle-aged man. I really need to make a mental note of that.

This is my first draft of a fat liberation pride flag. The four shades of blue stripes represent the four categories of fatness, with infinifat first. The grey background is a nod to the grey in the disability pride flag, which represents the mourning and rage for victims of ableist violence and abuse. I included this because our movements are intertwined. The orca symbol represents power, community, majesty, resilience, and most of all, the struggle for liberation.
And isn’t it punk as fuck to embrace the whale label by intentionally using the killer whale?
