I contemplated just leaving that, but you deserve more !! Oh my gosh goodness gracious where do I begin ?! You guys have been so wonderful, good, and kind to me. I’ve had this blog for 10 months now, but every day still feels so fresh and new and it’s all thanks to you! I was honestly terrified to talk to any of you and sometimes I still am. But you guys are so gentle with me and for that I owe you so much !!! This isn’t much, and you can see where I gave up in photoshop, but I hope you’ll accept this little token of my appreciation ! I just burst when I think about so many of you. When I set off all by myself for the first time in an RP fandom, I was so nervous. But my bottomless pit of love for Mucchan kept me going. And I have come so far and made so many friends !! So, thank you all.

He practically collapsed against his best friend, arms tightly wrapped around her waist and his face buried in the crook of her neck. Kaneki had a rough day again at work.
『 ✗ 』 › Normally, Thana wasn’t one to be in the front of the store and interact with customers. No, that was her sister’s job, with the peppy attitude and cheerful smiles. It entranced the customers and made them want to come back again, just to hold another conversation with the joyful Chayka. And then there was Thana. Irritable, angry Thana. Trinity was her real name, but she despised it. Her family called her Trinity, though, much to her chagrin. She normally worked in the back, sorting books by author or series and calculating sales. On that specific, dreadful day, Chayka happened to catch a cold, and Thana was forced to work the front while her other sister, Amarantha, worked the back.
Her eyes rose slowly as she was called to attention by a potential customer. While his question was heard, she merely stared at him for a long moment, brows furrowed and eyes narrowed. But the name of the book rang a bell, and she set down the stack of books in her arms. ❝I believe so. Please give me a moment.❞ Thana turned away and stepped into the back, looking for said book.
☆ Kaneki had never thought of himself as one to judge a person based solely off of first impressions, and although the staff member hadn’t said anything to get him on edge, she gave off an aura of intimidation. After a moment of consideration, the half breed decided to brush it off as having a bad day and not think too much about it.
Kaneki sighed to himself and surveyed his surroundings for something to occupy himself with while the girl was busy looking for the book. He tilted his head to the side slightly, reading the titles of each book in the stack she had set down. “Oh, wow..” he said in awe, “I never thought they’d have that book in stoc—”
His hand reached out to gingerly remove a book from the middle of the pile, only to have the entire thing come toppling over and fall onto the floor.
“Oh no..” Kaneki whispered to himself, crouching down onto the floor to pick up all the books he’d dropped. The last thing he wanted to do was cause inconvenience for the girl who had looked like she was having a bad enough day as it was.

☆ “Haise-san, you can’t keep pulling all nighters like this. If you show up to work without the proper amount of sleep, you might get hurt!” Kaneki scolded. Despite his tone coming off as harsh, the half ghoul was simply concerned for the investigator.
“that’s fine. i’m not here for coffee.” he surveyed the room before letting out a sigh. “yeah. i’m looking for someone. a girl with blonde hair and brown eyes. her name’s serena. you seen her? she comes here sometimes.”
☆ It only took him a second to piece together who the stranger was talking about. He immediately brightened at the mention of his friend, “Yes, I know her. She’s sweet enough to visit me sometimes and keep me company during boring work hours.”
“I haven’t seen her for awhile, though.. is something wrong?”
⇁ ❝ Eh— no I don’t! It’s back at my place, but you know how my drawings look. Your’s are, like, way better, ‘neki! Draw for me more, jeez! ❞
☆ “You really think so? All I ever did was doodle a lot in high school on the notes you’d pass to me in class.” he laughed, flattered by Hide’s compliment.·
“But do I like your distinct style. In fact, you should be the one drawing more for me, Hide!
“Happier? Like what? Want me to talk about how your blood when you die can pool in your body? Is that happier because they’re pretty cool designs from that.”
☆ “Cool designs?” he echoed in disbelief, uncertain how anyone could mistake that for a happier fact. “No, no, that’s not happier! It sounds interesting, but.. a happier fact would be something about.. I don’t know, pandas?”

☆ “Huh?” he glanced back and forth between the newly arrived customer and the bird who continued to squawk and fly aimlessly around the café. “Oh! Uh, I wanted to give him something new in his cage so I could surprise Hinami-chan when she got back, but.. Loser doesn’t like me that much. I think he’s doing this on purpose to get me in trouble and—”
The bird swept past as Kaneki spoke, making a quick getaway to the door. “Wait, no!” he exclaimed in a panic. “Quick! Close the door!”

☆ “–Whoa!” Kaneki almost tumbled over from the sudden pressure behind him and was only barely able to catch himself to regain his balance. He glanced over behind him to see who had latched onto him, not surprised to see Nicole latched behind him.
“Oh! It’s you! For a second I thought someone had just randomly hugged me from behind!” he didn’t know anyone else besides Nicole who would do that, though.
A bird… what was such a thing doing in a coffee shop? Sylvanas had always known that Anteiku was a rather soft place, but turning it into a petting zoo wasn’t really necessary, was it? Shortly after entering the front room she heard the cries of one of the staff members, giving her only a moment or so to adhere to the call before the small creature broke free.

☆ “I-I know that!” he whipped his head around to look at the customer who had entered the shop. He didn’t have any time to explain that the bird had originally been tucked away upstairs and remained in his state of panic. If, and god forbid, Touka or Hinami were to find out, Kaneki would be digging his own grave.
“Could you help me? It won’t listen to me no matter what I say!”
