ZAYN - LIKE I WOULD
What Zayn said was wrong about this not being a police brutality issue (OBVIOUSLY).. yes, he is brown and a minority - but still, NONBLACK.
The issue is about black lives, and it’s disappointing that he refused to acknowledge that. Yes, minority issues are real but there are countless, different struggles of each unique culture. He’s encouraging people to lump them altogether, therefore making us seem like we’re all the same. Reality check: we’re not.
Additionally, with him saying “love HUMANS” he may as well say #AllLivesMatter - which is problematic because it belittles #BlackLivesMatter by trivializing the movement’s purpose.
Stop victimizing him by saying “this is why he doesn’t speak up, he gets shit for it.” Well, good. He should be open to dialogue and learning, and not take constructive criticism as an attack. He’s a grown ass man who should be aware of his platform as a celebrity.
