What do you mean Rhoamanie didn’t survive so she could become a councilor with a rad bionic-arm and get married to Ashley the love of her life? There must be some mistake here.

Just a quick sketch for Valentines day because they are my ultimate pairing and i’ll never get over them.

If that sexual, electrically-charged, maybe-it-was-just-me tension from ME1 had made its way to ME3.

FemShepley for Mirandaputsherbestbuttforward

Ashley returned from the kitchen, a steaming mug in each hand and blankets slung around her arms, only to find a sight that made her eyes roll. A dim, foggy light filled the living room, like mist trailing through the nighttime streets. Chilled raindrops pinged against the glass window across the way, with a vista of sludgy clouds and swallowed sunlight beyond the sheets of water. Little orange embers of a dying flame popped from the brick-laid pit, sparking seconds of color into the room.

Shepard was in the middle of the room, amidst the grainy, deepening darkness. Her back was hunched, teetering off the edge of the couch. Her eyes were glazed, fixated on the flickering of her omni-tool. The buzzing and bleeping of virtual buttons and transparent screens whirled around the Commander’s head.

"Skipper," Ashley groaned, as she marched to the sofa and thumped by Shepard’s side, "the whole point of this vacation was to get away from our problems for a while and just enjoy each other’s company."

Shepard’s eyes batted about, searching for an acceptable excuse. She forced a mild laugh from the pit of her gut. “I, uh… didn’t think this… counted?”

Ashley’s lips slanted as she frowned. “Well, it DOES, so take the damn thing off.”

"All right, all right, omni-tool’s coming off. See? No vids, no extranet, no nothing…." Shepard smirked, gaze glued on Ashley’s face. She unlatched the tiny wristband that generated her omni-tool, and tossing it aside as if it were nothing. "Just you and me."

Ashley raised her brow and huffed, suspicious. “I don’t have to search for more, do I?”

"You’re welcome to, if it’ll make you feel better," said Shepard, voice spiked with arrogance, her posture relaxed, eyebrows waggled, and arms sprawled against the couch.

"You’re a piece of work," said Ashley, turning away to sip her hot chocolate.

"Aww, come on, Ash. It was just for a second. And it was work-related, if that means anything."

"Uh huh," she replied, unimpressed. "You realize you’re on vacation, right?"

Shepard tried to force herself into a resilient tone and stance, but caught herself staring at the curve of Ashley’s lips as she blew on her drink. The steam slipped along the swell of them. “Damn it, Ash,” she sighed, defeated, sinking into the sofa. “There’s just… even with the Reapers gone, there’s so much that’s still wrong. So much needs fixing.”

"Hey, don’t talk to me about work. I get that, okay? These things need to be done. But there’s another side to it. You break your back trying to fix every problem in the universe… that’s not enough. You look back and the accomplishments don’t keep you warm at night. They can’t make up your whole life."

"Ash… I get that. I really do. I don’t want work to be my whole life. I want YOU to be my whole life."

She put her mug down and sighed. “You got a funny way of showing it.”

"Ash, come here."

She huffed again, but could not fight the smirk cracking along her face. “Why don’t you make me?”

Not wasting any more energy on words, Shepard hinged her hands on Ashley’s arms and pulled her into the cushions. There was a moment of tensing resistance, but it ended quickly, and Ashley allowed herself to sink into the embrace. Shepard crossed her legs around Ashley’s, cooing against the silken sensation.

They fell in together; Ashley dragged the blankets she brought over them, and their bodies bundled ad twisted up into a messy cocoon of warmth and love.
