I just wanted to say that Our Hearts Are Tigers is one of my all time favorite fics! I reread it all the time.
This is what Stiles figures out after a week of harboring Isaac: he’s kind of a dick, for a ten-year-old.

It took him two solid days to figure out he wasn’t flat-out hallucinating. my chemical romance is the funniest and weirdest band ever. They’re all fucking losers who would genuinely rather play dnd than hook up with groupies. The singer used to work at Cartoon Network. The bassist is on the fbi watchlist for crimes against disney. One guitarist is a guitar god but he also used to keep a little action figure of spiderman in his pocket all the time, the other is like a little lap dog of a man, but he’s also on the fbi watchlist for death threats against a us president. They refused to be on the twilight soundtrack, one of the most popular franchises at the time but then they preformed on yo gabba gabba and re-recorded one of their songs in simlish.
Oh I didn’t forget. Make no mistake I did not forget the fact that Stephanie Meyer, nyt’s bestselling author of thee Twilight series who, upon looking at the weirdest greasiest human alive said oh my god I need to make this man* a creepy ass abusive predator. And I did not forget Gerard was so offended and upset that they wrote a whole ass diss track about it and went on a rant on Twitter that ended with them talking about getting that philharmonic cheddar. I can never forget.

Fanfic tiktok is wild... I see so many people saying shit like "I could never read anything below 60k!!", or "What story can you even tell in under 5k words?" or "A oneshot below 10k isn't even a story!" or "I always filter completed fics by 100k< only!"
And I'm like...
A) which fandoms are you reading fics for where you have this kind of offerings on the regular?
B) have you heard of short stories? If you truly think every story NEEDS to be longform to connect with people, I sincerely feel sorry for you.
C) Average novel length is between 50k to 100k. I'm sorry, but CONSISTENTLY demanding fic writers to push out fics of that length is insane. Just think about it: YOU DEMAND AUTHORS TO PUT OUT FICS THAT COMPARE TO COMMERCIAL NOVELS IN LENGTH (AND QUALITY) AS A BASELINE.
Yall are wilding.
