Postcards sent to Germany and San Francisco. I cannot tell you how excited I am to use the new Star Trek postage stamps. Linocut on etchings and monoprints.
The first color test of Lyell Castonguay’s new woodcut series went surprisingly well! Check out the image progression. Castonguay got really excited at one point and skipped the sixth layer in the documentation, whoops! This image is the first in what he hopes will be a long line of what he’s now calling “Hybrids”. Castonguay collages together elements of different avian species to create a mostly abstract composition with hints of realism. He still has to make some minor color changes and clean up a few spots in the carving but it looks pretty solid so far. What do you think?
