BEST TRACKS OF 2017-ARTISTS LIST #108

WARSAW PACT

We are to debut the single  this LA based cold-wave artist Warsaw Pact very shortly. Shall we introduce to you the tracks that made his 2017?!

Right off the bat this song throws us back to Murphy’s earlier work which is a huge influence for me. The lyrics!!!

Demure’s Drab Majesty was on my rotation daily when this album released earlier this year. Love the jangle-pop'esque guitar work on this song, the last half is also very very cool.

Been a huge fan of Chelsea’s work, gotta say she’s def been huge of influence of mine lately. The song is probably the darkest fucking most gothic thing I’ve heard all year. Awesome.

Fellow LA band Killjoi, love the sound and the melody/singing is very addicting, the latter half of the song is also an absolute pleasure. Props on the bass work.

I recently started listening to The National this year and to my surprise they released a slew of singles and a full record just a few months ago. This is probably my favourate song from that album. Dark and emotional, love it.

Loving the vibes from this track, I’m not sure how to describe honestly, the drumming pushes it all forward in a very abstract way, the singing at the chorus, catchy!

Liam’s back! The whole record was a pleasant surprise for me and this song in particular stands out, getting some Tame Impala vibes off of it. Good stuff.

Blood was on repeat for a looong time, I love the synth work on it, very catchy and very ethereal. Keep an eye on WVM.

Hailing from Pomona, California. I’ve had to pleasure to catch them live many many times and no one show is the same. The band has great energy live and the music is spot on. For fans of Post-Punk Revival bands like Interpol and The Cinematics.

These guys released their debut this year and most recently after many listens I think Avon is by far my favourate. I love that intro! The violin work is a great touch and overall the whole song simply sounds epic.

Mexico has been pumping out great Post-Punk since the late 80’s and AJ Davila is the latest to catch my ear. This song is the very definition of modern Post-Punk, the drum work , the guitars, the bass work. It’s so damn good. The singing makes the song unique for me, the style is very very Chilango, reminiscent of acts like Cafe-Tacvba.

On the Level… boy this could be your year! I play this track a lot, a lot, A LOT. Can’t get enough of it, it’s so chill get’s the nerves back in line.

// Warsaw Pact was founded during the summer of 2017 by Ivan Delint in Los Angeles, California. Influenced by modern Cold-Wave and drawing deeply from early Post-Punk, Warsaw Pact is meant to transport you into a state of introspective bliss. The project began as Delint's solo effort, he is currently the lead guitarist LA based Post-Punk band The Eleventh Frequency, but has since began forming a new band around his solo material. Day by Day is the first of four songs Warsaw Pact plans to release in the coming month, leading up to an E.P. in the near future. Day by Day was written, recorded and produced by Warsaw Pact in Los Angeles. //
