she’s just as traumatized as lucy (and flo! and lockwood!) and i believe it manifests in her controlling tidiness and organization and healthy eating! because she lost control that night on cotton street! but she doesn’t react with the same sort of reckless bravery we see with lucy and lockwood and we get to watch her become brave in TCS when she thinks lucy and lw have died and goes wild with george in waging war against the institute and also she and lockwood have such an underrated friendship that i love a lot that gets overshadowed by locklyle and lucy’s initial jealousy but is honestly so cute bc they’re posh little weirdos and i would die for holly honestly

I love the little detail in Creeping Shadow that she starts to bake? This is so cute because it's been pointed out before that a lot of traumatized agents don't really know what to *do* with themselves when they're not working. They don't really have any hobbies or do anything outside of work because their personalities were so warped by The Problem that they see their work as agents as the only thing worth doing. At the start only George (the most well adjusted kid with the most normal family upbringing) has any hobbies. He cooks (and it's implied that it's a hobby he shares with his mother). Lucy starts drawing at Lockwood and Co. and later tries to cook for everyone as well, Holly starts baking and Christmas story confirms Kipps bakes too. Food is an important element in the books. It brings kids comfort and relieves the paranormal malaise. The fact that Holly starts baking shows that she's slowly recovering from her damage and trauma and learning to do things for her own enjoyment and for people she cares about, just like everyone else at the agency.

yesssss and holly who had such a strict thing with “healthy” food being shown loosening up and baking and eating “unhealthy” things feeds into my hc that her food issues are directly related to her trauma and her need for control and then this angle that she’s trying to figure out who she is beyond her trauma and being agent is 🥹🥹🥹

already can't pretend to care about the male loneliness epidemic because it isn't real but listening to the way men actually talk about their friends/what they think friendship entails makes me care even less sorry

read an AITA earlier today about a guy who would walk his female friend home to her dorm very often UNTIL she rejected his romantic advances*, then when she asks him to walk her home bc she's drunk and feels unsafe he says no.
