In the mountainous regions of the Ridge, all commerce is controlled by a man who goes by Yarrow. He's a foreigner, but highly skilled in keeping an iron chokehold on the regions trade routes. After Blackclaw's father is caught stealing grain from Yarrow, a decree that would block all trade to his homelands forces Blackclaw to become a thief. Or at least a false one for a year.
