Hi, I'm Claire, welcome to my simblr. I'll be posting updates from my games (mainly TS4!), if you want to know anything else, ask away! :)

So many people who have TS4 are complaining about the lame gameplay… I wonder how these people are playing b/c I find it to be much better gameplay than TS3 so far! I’ve been having a fab time & loling so much! Not to mention tons of pics you guys are…

I thought i’d chime in since i’m really tired and in a writeful (is that even a word?) mood.

The lack of toddlers doesn’t really bother me. I always skipped the toddlers because I thought they were super annoying, so i’m not disappointed with that. Most people I know only use pools as a decoration effect, because sims just kinda floated in the pool and didn’t really swim or do much. So that didn’t bother me either. The lack of cars is a little annoying, but not a deal breaker to me.

The deal-maker, in fact, is the genetics and the gameplay. Seriously - if you haven’t had an in-game child yet, you need to see these genetics for yourself. I mean they are wonderful. I made a post about it earlier praising EA/maxis for whatever they did right with the genetics. They arent a mix of random traits/appearances from generations ago. They’re actually a mix of your two sims and it’s great. I’m playing a Beyonce & Jay-z game, and their first child has Beyonce’s hair and Jay-Z’s face (poor child) but it’s still super adorable!

I’ve always been into the genetics and always loved legacies and continuing families and the like, so this is a huge step forward for me.

As per the gameplay, I think there are so many options based on emotions that it’s great. I also love love love love how Sims can go off and do their own thing now - no more idling for 5 minutes before sims go to do something or you have to make them go do something. I put 8 random sims in a home and they all immediately went to start doing stuff, talking to each other, etc.

Basically I love love love love this game. Imagining going back to the Sims 3 pains me because its laggy, slow and nothing like this at all. It’d be a huge step backwards imo.

^ I completely agree with you. The gameplay and lag with Sims 3 actually pushed me backwards to playing sims 2 until Sims 4 came out.  I've had a lot of my friends who also play sims complaining about the 'cartoonish' look too, I think it's absolutely adorable. In my opinion it seems like the sims have more character, they're more independent (as you said, no just standing around anymore, thankfully!). I've also found it to be much smoother, I haven't experienced any lag (or crashes) yet and I've also had a much more fun experience with the new interactions, even just the way they react to things is fun to watch. There is so much criticism floating around about this game, when really I think it's one of the best yet. I loved toddlers in TS3 but I haven't really missed them while playing TS4, as for pools, if I'm honest I haven't even given them a second thought.

Hey all!  I'm starting completely from scratch with this simblr. Instead of posting TS3 I will now be posting TS4 (my computer can't hack having both games installed at the same time, it barely ran TS3 on it's own!) and I'm super excited about it.  For now, meet my first ever TS4 sim, Winfred Springs. He's a bit of a creative goofball with a passion for writing and painting mainly, although he's been dabbling a little in the musical world with the violin too. He tries to keep fit but his weight seems to go up and down like a yoyo, kind of his own fault for not keeping out the refridgerator though! I'm glad to be back. <3
