A lil silly AU inspired by this ask! Imagine if the effect of the golden weapons was!! worse than death. So now, Zane is splintered between time and space, between existing and not existing. Now he "haunts" the ninja in hopes he can lead them to clues on how to bring him back to reality. But they can't understand him.

i think after failing to protect the innocent he goes on to develop an extreme sense of vigilante justice to compensate, and sometimes that justice gets ugly
i want to see him annihilate vex lol. partly for what he did to him but most importantly what he did to every innocent villager and formling and creature in the realm. he can't change his past but he will avenge his victims.

It’s a testament to how normalized being haunted is for her when she doesn’t even flinch. She glances over at him before dog-earing the page and putting her book down. She glances around the room to make sure no one is within ear-shot, “Romance book. Princess is kidnapped, a knight goes to save her, the wizard who kidnapped her falls in love with her- Oh, the Knight is also in love with her. Classic love triangle.” She shrugs before pinning him with a playfully pointed glare, “Nice of you to show up. It was my turn to make dinner tonight y'know, And everyone is always raving about your cooking. I could have used your help!”
He has the good graces to look apologetic, “How long have I been gone for this time?” he asks.
“Just one day.” she reassures him, “Not too long.”
