Several months ago @allisontunis asked me to be a part of a Body Positive Coloring book. Being a huge fan of coloring, and a even bigger fan of body positivity, I was immediately on-board. The book launched last month, and words can’t describe how happy this makes me. I bought several copies, including one to color in, one to keep pristine, and one to give to my niece. You don’t have to be fat to benefit from fat activism- body policing hurts everyone. It’s ok to be fat. It’s ok to be thin. It’s ok to just be your own kind of beautiful.

its “thighs rubbing together under ya sundress” season

Buy cute, cheap lace leggings. Cut them a little above your knee. Hem them or don’t, but then you can wear them under your sundresses and not worry about how you sit or if your thighs chafe, and if anyone sees them they look cute af so hell yes

Or a little deodorant between the thighs is magical

Also, LUSH sells this dust called Silky Underwear that makes your skin smooth so they don’t stick together or chafe.

Monistat has an anti-chafing gel that works wonders and I live by. You can usually find it in the feminine care aisle of any drugstore. 

There’s this stuff called Glide…pretty cheap & works hella miracles

I did a photo shoot with the wonderful Bill Tussey to talk about body positivity and empowerment. For a very long time I struggled with my body image and after suffering years of depression and anxiety I finally learned to love myself. Every stretch mark, scar and freckle on my body is beautiful. It took years of practice but I’m finally to the point in my life where I am accepting of who I am. It takes a lot to love yourself, and i’m still learning everyday. I am beautiful, inside and out.

The takeaway of this is not that being pretty is what is important in life. The takeaway is that there isn’t a limit on who can call themselves pretty and that we as individuals, particularly women, have more important things to offer the world than the way we look. That being said, learning to love all parts of yourself is a step in the direction of self care, which is why I made this video.
