For any other 90's kids in Tumblr-land who happen to also be theatre kids...Marc Summers is coming to an Off-Broadway stage this summer and he is bringing slime!!!

I had gotten hints that this was coming from his interview on the "Hey Dude The 90's Called" Podcast but this sounds even better than I expected! I mean just the pictures of the set are a huge nostalgia bomb!

Summers developed the show with Alex Brightman (yes Beetlejuice's Alex Brightman!) and there is going to be music by a composer, Drew Gasperini, who I am just learning the name of but am apparently a fan of his work (Skittles! The Musical!).

I can't wait!

Images were posted today on BroadwayWorld from The Center Group's production of The Secret Garden currently playing at The Ahmanson in LA.

They look AMAZING!

If I wasn't so sure that this production had Broadway in its sights (I mean Sierra Boggess is starring in it...), I might have been hopping on a plane across the country to see it!

The Secret Garden was one of the first Broadway shows I saw as a kid and, while I realize nostalgia plays a factor, it is still one of my favorite scores of all time.

There are really good discounts available on Goldstar.

Please message me if you live in Los Angeles and go see this production, I want to hear everything about it!

I am so incredibly excited about this news!!!!!

And I feel like I manifested this since I was JUST talking about how much love I had for The Public's production of this musical.

It was honestly one of the best pieces of theatre I have ever seen, and I see A LOT.

Alex Timbers is known for transforming theatres for his productions and the article indicates that he and his team intend to transform The Broadway Theatre to allow for a similar (but larger) immersive experience in the same way it was originally presented 10 years ago Of-Broadway!

I know this blog has been a bit quiet recently but I filled out my Show-Score/ TodayTix #yearinreviews to see how many shows I had seen this year and I wanted to share it here.

The grand total was 49!

(It was actually 52 but BOTO, The Classic Theatre of Harlem’s Twelfth Night, and the production of Into The Woods at Signature Theatre in Alexandria weren’t on the list to check off).

My #theatregoing adventures were split pretty evenly between Broadway and Off-Broadway shows and took me from uptown to Brooklyn.

I'm looking forward to filling up another couple of #playbill binders in 2023! Happy New Year! **Show-Score is hosting a sweepstakes for people who fill out their 2022 lists - the prize is a $365 TodayTix gift card and entries are open until January 6th LINK HERE

From Oct 1st with The Piano Lesson to October 31st (tonight) with the invited dress rehearsal for New York City Center’s production of Parade, I saw 11 shows! (The 11th was a visit to the NYC Ballet and is not pictured because there is a 10 image limit for this post.) What a month! And more to come in November. #theatreadventures #nyctheatergeek

I'm so excited that this show is finally making it's way to Broadway!

I saw this 4 YEARS AGO during it's run off-Broadway and I can't wait to see how it is evolved to fit into Circle in the Square.

And I don't know anything about Luna as an artist, but I gather that her being in the show is a pretty big deal for fans of K-Pop.

I completely missed the first season of this but apparently Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS filmed their own version of The Masked Singer as a fundraiser on their YouTube channel and now they are back for Season 2!

Two episodes have aired so far and I am proving to be embarrassingly bad at guessing who the artists are. I would love to speculate though with anyone else who is watching along! I do have some strong suspicions about the squirrel...

Slate.com put together a list of all of the fabulous cameos in #ticktickboom (though they missed Jelani Alladin who you get a glimpse of at the very end).

However, for those wondering how many of the supporting cast were Broadway performers and what you may have seen them in... the answer is A LOT!

Here is the Amanda/ TheaterGeek addendum:

Focus Group Scene: Laura Benanti (Gypsy, My Fair Lady, etc), Danielle Ferland (OBC Into the Woods), Micaela Diamond (The Cher Show), Utkarsh Ambudkar (Freestyle Love Supreme),

Workshop Performers: Kate Rockwell (Mean Girls), Joel Perez (Fun Home), Lauren Marcus (Be More Chill), AND Joshua Henry (Scottsboro Boys, Carousel, and soon to be in Waitress).

Friends: MJ Rodriguez (Rent Off-Bway), Ben Levi Ross (Dear Evan Hansen)

Parents: Judy Kuhn (currently in Assassins but too many other fabulous credits to list), Danny Burstein (Moulin Rouge!, Fiddler On the Roof, etc).

*NOTE: These are just the people I recognized, there ARE additional actors that I looked up and did have Broadway & Off-Broadway credits as well.

Won tickets to tonight’s fan performance/ dress rehearsal of The Book of Mormon! Brought my dad to be my #missioncompanion since he is the reason I fell in love with musical theatre and he’s been talking about wanting to see this show for forever! It was the first time seeing it for both of us and we had a fantastic time!

Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Casey Nicholaw, and Robert Lopez popped out before the show to say HELLO!

Sharing my social media entry for the contest which I had originally posted on Instagram because I had a lot of fun slapping it together.
