Always learn poems by heart, they have to become the marrow in your bones.
Like fluoride in water, they’ll make you impervious to the world’s soft decay.

Your heart has softened, Kida. A thousand years ago, you would have slain them on sight.

If you want to get warm you must stand near the fire: if you want to be wet you must get into the water. If you want joy, power, peace, eternal life, you must get close to, or even into, the thing that has them.

She is the promise of future joys, the whole world in bloom, and the feeling of warmth when all I’ve know is gloom. Her heart is like a rare gem, strong and beautiful. Just knowing that she is real, breaks my heart, because I wonder how I could ever speak to a beauty that can light the world on fire.
She has the soul of a lion, and I fear that I am a lamb. Yet, she without knowing it, can make me a man.
How I long to let her know, that she set my life ablaze the moment I laid my eyes on her, and my soul is marked with the impact she left. If I could pull the miles closer with the depth of my words, I would write until the gap had been closed and secured.
I think of her, when all is quiet; I wonder and ponder in all that I desire, and she gently makes her way to my heart, this heart that is always set on fire.
