Saved By The Bell // deadpoolwasnothere

Wade listens carefully as Peter speaks and he feels a range of emotions wash through him. The one thing that catches him off guard however is the mention of a proposal and he can feel his stomach doing flips from a combination of joy and excitement, but for the most part, nerves. It’s mainly due to his age and the point that he’s at in his life that causes it, but it’s nothing bad and he finds himself warming up to the thought with each passing beat of silence. By the end of Peters small speech he finds his lips pulling back into a small smile. His thoughts lingering on the word “proposal” and not much else. But he knows that he has to say something or Peter would freak out even more and. He smiles more now. Nothing huge because he knows that would set Peters emotions off in the wrong direction and the last thing that he wanted to do was make him worry about what had happened even more. All that Wade does is lean forward and press his hands to the side of Peters face before leaning forwards and pressing his lips to the older males. He hopes that this is the answer that he’s looking for. Because he wants to just say that Peter was completely wrong. But that usually came at the cost of Peter fighting back and trying to swing the argument in his direction. There was no time for that. All that Wade wanted to let Peter know is that they were fine. That there were hiccups in perfectly fine machines that functioned all the time and that this was just one of those.  "I love you. And you’re not doing anything wrong. We’re not doing anything wrong. There’s nothing wrong with us - this - and we’re fine. Okay? I mean that. Things like this happen all the time. It’s just a fight and I promise on everything that I won’t go anywhere that you aren’t going. Unless you make me. But I really doubt that would ever happen."

Peter is tense when their lips meet, but as with every time Wade kisses him, he finds himself inevitably melting into his touch. His eyes close and a hand lifts to stroke through his hair as he presses into the kiss, a small part of him protesting when Wade pulls away. "I love you too," Peter murmurs, once Wade had finished his piece. "Thank you. I just--I think I needed to hear that. We're definitely okay. You make things okay, actually. You keep me stable, honestly." Peter leans back in his chair and runs his hands through his hair with a soft sigh, mulling over their conversation quietly. He hadn't meant to put marriage on the table so quickly. Rather, it just sort of slipped out. He knows Wade hadn't missed it, though, and it's not as if he wants to take it back. As far as he knows Wade didn't react to it. They'd have to talk about it, at least at some point. It was a big decision and a conversation they'd have to have. But for now, Peter is just happy to relax. "I love you so much," he murmurs, looking up at him with a special brand of adoration reserved only for Wade. "And we're gonna be okay."
