Friendly reminder that I'm on pillowfort!
I have invitations if you want to try it out :D
It's my 10 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
you have to MANUALLY opt out of it as well.
if you’ve already opted out of showing up in google searches, it’s preselected for you. but you also have to opt out for each blog you own separately, so if you’d like to prevent AI scraping your blog i’d really recommend taking the time to opt out. (source)
okay though to be absolutely clear tumblr isn’t officially shutting down. a lot of people who work on it are just being moved to other projects within automattic so tumblr is gonna be run by the Minimum amount of people possible, which is worrying in regards to this sites future. that’s why i’m coming up with backup plans to keep in touch with people and still be able to share my art
Pillowfort has struggled to get new users, despite its awesome content filtering tools, moderated communities, and NSFW welcome policy.
It's less expensive than Cohost to run, but still, now it's at risk of being reclassified by the IRS due to unprofitability.
PF staff have refused to bend on their NSFW friendly policies, and recently announced a blanket ban on AI generated content, informed by community polls.
PF no longer operates on invites AFAIK, so go create yourself an account! make a few posts, join communities! It takes time to build a nice dashboard but it's been totally worth it for me. Right now we need an active userbase more than anything else.

Nathaniel have you heard of the cat crochet stitch!? Each stitch is meant to look like a little cat. My mom recently introduced me to it and it's the CUTEST thing and it just crossed my mind that you would appreciate it
No, I'd never seen this before!!!! It's adorable, oh my G-d. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!!
Marinette would use it to knit something nice for Chat Noir.
it's not a stitch, it's a three-row pattern, but point holds
it uses a stitch—elongated double crochet cluster—that I am not finding instructions for in a useful (that is, non-video) format anywhere, augh, could someone who finds video instructions useful please make a text-and-photos tutorial?
@flecks-of-stardust A day later than I originally intended but! I’ve written down some instructions on how to do the Elongated Double Crochet Cluster and this three-row cat stitch pattern! (Disclaimer, I am not a professional pattern writer so please forgive me if there are any mistakes)
Im not sure how much detail y’all need, so Im just going to pretend Im writing this for early beginners. As long as you know the Double Crochet and Chain, you should be good! These instructions are written in US terminology. The Elongated Double Crochet Cluster (EDCC) is just like a normal Double Crochet Cluster, the only difference is where it is placed. The EDCC is worked through a space in the row Below where you would normally work. To do a Double Crochet Cluster, start as if you’re doing a normal Double Crochet but stop before you pull through the last two loops of the stitch (yarn over, pull through, pull through two).
“ The Chroma Conclave “
This started out as a very late night sketch to help me fall asleep but I just had to finish it. This took me right back to my younger years of drawing nothing but dragons and it really gave me a good spark of inspiration. Drawing them will always be my favorite!
I can’t wait to see this bunch again soon.
Im back yayyyyyyyy
I also want better public transport that doesn't rely on me having to have a car.
