The official cast of the live action of Hirunaka no Ryuusei has been announced and added to the official website here. Official twitter: @hirunaka_movie.

The movie will open on March 24th 2017

Comment by Nagano Mei: The first time I read the original work, I felt that ‘kyun kyun’ feeling and I’m excited to bring that experience to the cinematic screen. It’s difficult to express Suzume’s delicate yet tumultuous emotions but after discussing with the director, I thought that I would like to play Yosano Suzume with all I have. As it is my first time being the main character in a movie, there are things I’m unsure about but in order to not disappoint fans of the original work, everyone of the staff and cast will be doing their best till the end!

Comment by Miura Shouhei: Despite being a love story centered around a student and teacher, I think the charm of this work is the conflict between Suzume, Shishio and Mamura, and how each of them matures through it. Shishio both shows and hides his true feelings towards Suzume, his character has both an innocence and mysterious side to him. And these two sides of him is his appeal. I will play this role with all my heart to be true to the outlook of the original work.

Comment by Shirahama Alan: I play Mamura, an awkward but honest character. With the daily tutelage of my experienced co-stars, firstly I want to properly bring that across to the audience. Also how the work portrays the importance of loving and what happens with honest love, I’ll work hard and do my best to convey those feelings.

Comment by Shinjou Takehiko (director): The pain of first love, joy of being in love, and irreplaceable friendship, the film will be packed with these feelings of sparkling youth. It’s still a few days till filming begins, but Nagano Mei has eyes that have a clearness and dignity that goes to the core, exactly as I visualised Suzume. I exchanged views with Miura Shouhei from the preliminary stages to script and he’s not just kind, he somehow possesses the charm of bantering with Suzume. In addition, Shirahama Alan also reduced his duties in preparation for the role, he’s working hard in earnest. He’ll not just be good looking, he’ll also bring out a cute side. Each of them spinning their own pattern of awkward love, if the feeling of heartrending love comes across, I’ll be happy.

Comment by Yamamori Mika: When the film adaptation was first decided, “I wonder if turning this incondite work into a movie will be alright”, I was really anxious. But when I visited the set, I could feel the cast and staff’s enthusiasm pressing against my skin, I was genuinely filled with the feeling of “I want to watch this movie as soon as possible”. The visual aspect is also done very faithfully, if the characters were real, it would feel like this, I was impressed. I think it’s blessed with truly wonderful people.

04:51PM - The cast has been announced and now here’s the hardest part to take in… When the movie was green-lit, the cast had not been decided (the movie adaptation was decided much earlier) the producers all really tried their hardest to hold out for my expectations but… still it couldn’t be confirmed →

04:51PM - During this period there really were so many things going on… “What should I do”, I looked up to the heavens, the production crew had a workload and many busy schedules to adjust so I let them take over the casting decisions.

04:51PM - Shirahama Alan in particular had no idea that during serialisation of the series, Mamura had been modelled on someone else yet he accepted the role, and on top of that had to make a significant reduction in his overcrowded schedule in the short term to play the part. I’m really grateful.

04:51PM - I did actually meet Shirahama-san, of course Nagano-san, Miura-san and others too, it felt like the whole cast have a deep understanding of their characters and I was relieved.

04:51PM -  Ultimately, I think among fans of the original, there’ll be many who go “hmmm”. Still, I think it’s best to think of the original work as an original work, and the movie as a movie. As for those who do not want a film adaptation, I plan to draw one-shots as a continuation of the original work →

04:51PM - I think that’s also something to look forward to. You are free to watch or not watch the movie, it’s up to you. Personally, I’m really looking forward to it. This has become long, so in the meantime I will be working hard and doing my best with what I can so thank you for the support.

05:43PM (Morishita Suu) - Regarding the image of the cast, everyone will have their own opinion, I don’t think it’s possible for everyone to agree on it. But, I’m sure the fans of the actors, and fans of the original work will enjoy the movie ❤ I’m really looking forward to the Hirunaka movie‼

05:58PM - I’m truly thankful for everyone’s kind words. I’m glad that I draw manga..

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello, admin L here. Like you have probably noticed, this blog has been quite inactive lately. The truth is that I have tried to figure out the future of this blog, and I think it’s time to tell what my final conclusion is. (please excuse me for grammar mistakes and such)

Daytime Shooting Stars will become inactive, starting today.

Why??

Long story short: I don’t have time, nor, energy, nor passion to update this blog anymore, especially about Tsubaki Chou. My free time is quite limited nowadays. Of course it would be still possible to reblog translations and stuff like that  - it’s not like I’m  doing anything that requires hard work - but I don’t want to spend my time on anything I don’t actually enjoy.

What about updates??

Fear not, my dear Yamamori Mika fans - you will still be updated about Tsubaki Chou and such, thanks to these blogs:

Aka Tsubaki Chou’s translation group.

AND

You can read more about Yamamori News here. It’s everything a Yamamori Mika fan could wish for: please follow them if you want to keep being updated about Yamamori’s career and Tsubaki Chou.

That’s it, I guess. I’m sorry that this happened so abruptly; I would have loved to gave this blog a goodbye it deserves(?), but like I said, I’m out of energy. I’m really sorry that I haven’t been much around these past months, and that I have been neglecting answering your asks. Thank you for following this blog, your messages, and everything else.

Bye!
