He wanted to start a microbrewery. Motivated by his own passion for home-brewing and the decision to leave a career as a geologist, Jeff and his wife started their journey. Their beers are now supplied to 13 states and they call home Manhattan, Kansas.

They aim to challenge the world of beer around them and follow wherever their curiosity takes them. The Thrasher Session has notes of tropical fruits, apricot, grapefruit, citrus and melon and is simply a symphony of fruity hop magic. More fruity hops can be found in the Willy Nilly, which is a golden ale balanced with ginger and orange peel.

The company has a mission of producing authentic German bier styles and the brewery’s tasting room and bier garden opened back in February 2014. With an array of Belgian beer offerings as well as a fruity barley wine, there will be plenty of choice come Saturday. Be sure to check out the Belgian Dark Ale of the Vertical Epic 12.12.12, which contains flavors of fall spices, orange peel and rosehips. You might have heard the names Bobby Stuckey and Lachlan Patterson when it was announced that Pizzeria Locale was heading to Kansas City but did you also know that they have their own wine label? It all came about over a mutual passion for Friulian wine.

The pair worked together at The French Laundry, where Bobby was Master Sommelier and Lachlan the chef de partie. They moved to Boulder Colorado and opened Frasca Food and Wine. Bobby and Lachlan continue to travel to Friuli several times a year to envelop the culture so it was only a matter of time before Scarpetta Wine was born.

The Pinot Grigio is crisp and dry with medium high acidity and tastes of stone fruits, lavender, honey, pear, white flowers and minerals. The medium bodied Barbera del Monferrato is balanced with crushed berries, plums and hints of earth and porcini mushrooms. Their third offering is the “Timido”, a Sparkling Brut Rose with flavors of strawberries and touch of herbs.

What will be on offer?

-       Pinot Grigio (12%)

-       “Timido” Sparkling Brut Rose (12%)

-       Barbera del Monferrato (14%)

Failure to comply with the Entry Requirements, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, is grounds for a disqualification from the Contest.

In the event of a dispute over the identity of any potential winner, the Entry will be declared made by the “authorized account holder” of the account used for Entry.  Each Entrant may be required to provide identification sufficient to show that Entrant is the authorized account holder.  It is the sole responsibility of the Entrant to notify the Sponsor in writing of any changes to Entrants phone number or contact information during the Contest Period.  Proof of uploading an Entry does not constitute proof of delivery or Entry. Sponsor, its sole discretion, shall determine the extent and manner of the use of the Entry and Sponsor is not obligated in any way to use or exploit the same or any rights granted by the Entrants, or any portion thereof, in any medium or any manner whatsoever, including, but not limited to, use on Sponsor’s Google+ page and website. Entrant further agrees that the Entry is not being submitted in confidence or in trust, and that no confidential or fiduciary relationship is intended or created.

Review of all eligible Entries and the determination of potential winning Entrants will be within forty-eight (48) hours after the Contest Period concludes.

SIMILAR ENTRIES:  Entrants acknowledge that other Entries may contain similar and/or parallel ideas and concepts to their Entry, and that Entrants will not be entitled to any compensation or right to negotiate with the Contest Entities (defined below) because of such similarities or parallels. Prizes may not be sold, bartered or exchanged by any winner.  All taxes, fees and any other expenses not specified herein associated with the prize acceptance are the sole responsibility of the winning Entrants. If a winning Entrant is a minor, the prize may be awarded in the name of, or to, the winning Entrant’s parent or legal guardian who must execute all required documentation and agree to all obligations and undertakings of the winner on behalf of himself/herself and the winning Entrant, or the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.  Winning Entrants may be required to furnish their social security numbers to be used by Sponsor strictly for the purpose of reporting the winners’ prize earnings to the Internal Revenue Service, as required by law.

If the Contest is terminated Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, determine the winners from among all eligible entries received up to the time of discontinuance to the extent reasonably possible and practical. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules of this or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.  Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that or any other provision.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Contest Entities assume no responsibility or liability for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Entrant, printing, typographical or other errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries at any point in the operation of this Contest; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Contest; (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of the Internet or any combination thereof; (e) any injury or damage to participant’s or to any other person's electronic device which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Contest or download any materials in the Contest; or (f) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail.  If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned for reasons which may include without limitation, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, then Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest in whole or in part.  Contest Entities are not responsible for any unauthorized third party use of any Entry.

PRIVACY: Any personal information collected in conjunction with this Contest from Entrants is subject to the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy posted at:

https://www.chipotle.com/en-us/html/privacy.html.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION:  You agree that any claim or dispute at law or equity that has arisen or may arise relating in any way to or arising out of the Contest, the Official Rules, or the award of prizes will be resolved in accordance with the provisions set forth in this Dispute Resolution section. Please read this section carefully as it affects your rights and will have a substantial impact on how claims you and we have against each other are resolved.  You agree that whenever you have a disagreement with the Sponsor arising out of, connected to, or in any way related to the Contest, the Official Rules, or the award of prizes, you will send a written notice to the Sponsor (“Demand”).  You agree that the requirements of this Dispute Resolution section will apply even to disagreements that may have arisen before you accepted these Official Rules.  You must send the Demand to the following address (the “Notice Address”): Legal Department, CMG Strategy Co., LLC, 1401 Wynkoop Street, Suite 500, Denver, CO 80202. You agree that you will not take any legal action, including filing a lawsuit or demanding arbitration, until 10 business days after you send a Demand.  If the disagreement stated in the Demand is not resolved to your satisfaction within 10 business days after it is received, and you intend on taking legal action, you agree that you will file a demand for arbitration with the American Arbitration Association (the “Arbitrator”).  This arbitration provision limits the ability of you and Sponsor to litigate claims in court and you and Sponsor each agree to waive your respective rights to a jury trial or a state or federal judge.  You agree that you will not file any lawsuit against Sponsor in any state or federal court.  You agree that if you do sue in state or federal court, and Sponsor brings a successful motion to compel arbitration, you must pay all fees and costs incurred by Sponsor in court, including reasonable attorneys’ fees. For any such filing of a demand for arbitration, you must effect proper service under the rules of the Arbitrator and notice to the Notice Address may not be sufficient.  If, for any reason, the American Arbitration Association is unable to conduct the arbitration, you may file your case with any national arbitration company.  The Arbitrator shall apply the AAA Consumer-Related Disputes Supplementary Procedure effective September 15, 2005 (as may be amended) and as modified by the agreement to arbitrate in this Dispute Resolution section.  You agree that the Arbitrator will have sole and exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute you have with Sponsor.  The Federal Arbitration Act allows for the enforcement of arbitration agreements and governs the interpretation and enforcement of the agreement to arbitrate.

You agree that you will not file a class action or collective action against Sponsor, and that you will not participate in a class action or collective action against them.  You agree that you will not join your claims to those of any other person.  Notwithstanding any other provision in the Official Rules, if this class action waiver is invalidated, then the agreement to arbitrate is null and void, as though it were never entered into, and any arbitration dispute at that time will be dismissed without prejudice and may be refiled in a court.  Under no circumstances do you or Sponsor agree to class or collective procedures in arbitration or the joinder of claims in arbitration.  Sponsor agrees that it will submit all disputes with you to arbitration before the Arbitrator.

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the Entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, or any claim or dispute that has arisen or may arise between you and Sponsor, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Colorado without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.

DMCA NOTICE AND TAKEDOWN: If an Entrant or third party believes that its work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please submit a complaint to Sponsor at the following email: Jstupp@chipotle.com.  Please include the following information with any infringement-related complaint: (i) a physical signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner; (ii) a description of the work that has been potentially infringed upon; (iii) an address, telephone number, and e-mail address of the copyright holder; (iv) an acknowledgement of a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized; and (v) a statement that the above information in your complaint is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.

No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.  In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing among all legitimate, un-awarded, eligible prize claims.

11. Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the District of Colorado or the appropriate Colorado State Court located in Denver County, Colorado; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.  All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Colorado without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Colorado or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Colorado.

Cartel Brewery

Cartel Brewery is currently serving up three brews. D.P.A. (Desert Pale Ale) is an American Pale Ale with an Arizona twist – hoppy with a smooth, sweet finish. The Coffee Brown is a lighter, nut brown ale, perfect for Spring. (Fun fact: these guys also own Cartel Coffee Lab, which you’ll find in our Artisan Hall!) The F.Y.I.T.M is known as the D.P.A.’s big brother, so watch out. Lastly, the Amber Rye, is every bit of smooth, malty, and spicy.

Dragoon Brewing Company

The folks at Dragoon believe that with every pour of their beer, they’re able to share a little bit of who they are, and rest assured, they’re proud of every last drop. The company started in the 90s as a father-son homebrew gig, turned Northern Arizona Homebrewers Club, turned three-man partnership, which is what Dragoon remains today. These guys trust that believing in their beer ultimately leads to their purest happiness.

Four Peaks Brewing Company

The folks at Four Peaks have one goal in mind: to craft exceptional beer and be able to share it with good people. Sounds like an ideal goal, right? Their building was once a creamery, but has now been transformed into a home of “mainstay” and seasonal beers, brewed in-house from silo to tap.

Papago Brewing Co.

Once a combination bottle shop, homebrew supply store, and tasting room, this full-service restaurant now serves 30 beers on tap that rotate daily. Not only are they serving local microbrews and (their pride and joy) American craft beers, but they’ve also got some of the classics from around the world. They live, drink, brew, and love all things beer, and you’re guaranteed to feel that as soon as you walk in their door.

The Phoenix Ale Brewery

Phoenix Ale Brewery is home of Fretzy’s Unfiltered Ale, a “phresh brewed ale” named after the late George “Fretzy” Fresh who helped develop this business with current owner and GM, George Hancock. This old warehouse turned taproom features fresh, unfiltered ales seven days a week, and you might even be offered to sample some experimental beers when you take the tour.

The Naked Grape

The folks at Naked Grape believe in baring it all…figuratively, of course. “Great Grapes = Great Flavor = Great Wine.” Could it be any simpler? When developing their varietals, this duo of award-winning winemakers wants to ensure that folks are getting the true and unique flavor of each grape, all while the business is also focusing efforts on sustainability and social responsibility. Have you discovered all of their Naked Truths yet?

11. Dispute Resolution: You agree that any claim or dispute at law or equity that has arisen or may arise relating in any way to or arising out of the Sweepstakes, the Official Rules, or the Sponsor’s Mobile Terms and Conditions will be resolved in accordance with the provisions set forth in this Dispute Resolution section. Please read this section carefully. It affects your rights and will have a substantial impact on how claims you and we have against each other are resolved.

You agree that whenever you have a disagreement with the Sponsor arising out of, connected to, or in any way related to the Sweepstakes, the Official Rules, or the Sponsor’s Mobile Terms and Conditions, you will send a written notice to the Sponsor (“Demand”). You agree that the requirements of this Dispute Resolution section will apply even to disagreements that may have arisen before you accepted these Official Rules or the Sponsor’s Mobile Terms and Conditions. This arbitration provision limits the ability of you, Administrator, and Sponsor to litigate claims in court and you, Administrator and Sponsor each agree to waive your respective rights to a jury trial or a state or federal judge. You agree that you will not file any lawsuit against Administrator or Sponsor in any state or federal court. You agree that if you do sue in state or federal court, and Administrator or Sponsor brings a successful motion to compel arbitration, you must pay all fees and costs incurred by Administrator and Sponsor in court, including reasonable attorney’s fees. You agree that the Arbitrator will have sole and exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute you have with Administrator or Sponsor. The Federal Arbitration Act allows for the enforcement of arbitration agreements and governs the interpretation and enforcement of the agreement to arbitrate

You agree that you will not file a class action or collective action against Administrator or Sponsor, and that you will not participate in a class action or collective action against them. You agree that you will not join your claims to those of any other person. Notwithstanding any other provision in the Official Rules, or the Sponsor’s Mobile Terms and Conditions, if this class action waiver is invalidated, then the agreement to arbitrate is null and void, as though it were never entered into, and any arbitration dispute at that time will be dismissed without prejudice and may be refiled in a court. Under no circumstances do you, Administrator, or Sponsor agree to class or collective procedures in arbitration or the joinder of claims in arbitration. Administrator and Sponsor agree that we will submit all disputes with you to arbitration before the Arbitrator.

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant, Administrator, and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, or any claim or dispute that has arisen or may arise between you, Administrator and Sponsor, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Colorado without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.

The Early Days, #4 Alameda

And then there were four. Our restaurant at 371 East Alameda in Denver is special to me, as it is for many others here at Chipotle. Despite this being our fourth restaurant, Alameda is first in many ways. This was the first restaurant I ever worked in, and the first time I saw how things were done in our restaurants. Way back when, I did my in-restaurant training there. I worked alongside some of the most talented, motivated and enthusiastic people I’ve ever had the chance to meet. It was a great introduction to Chipotle, and this location will always be one of my favorites as a result.

This location is also one of Steve Ells’ favorites. He often used this restaurant as a test kitchen for new recipes and cooking techniques. I actually met Steve for the first time at Alameda while I was doing my training. He was working with then Restaurateur Pedro Huichapa, on some cooking techniques they would later use in our yet-to-be opened London restaurants.

Pedro is now an Executive Team Director, but he still looks fondly on the early days. “We used to give out free margaritas, and we had mariachis play during the openings back then. He said, "And yes, Alameda used to be the test kitchen for a few years. We trained the person who opened the first location in London on cooking from scratch. I was able to go with him to train the staff in London—it was amazing!”

Learning about the old days just made me like Alameda even more. Gretchen, one of our Restaurant Support Officers, was involved from the beginning, and recalled the grand opening. “I love the neighborhood,” she said. “We opened this restaurant on a beautiful spring night. The opening party brought about 500 people who filtered onto the streets and sidewalk. It looked like a block party!”

Gretchen also liked the restaurant design, stating, “It has one of the simplest layouts." There was, however, one obstacle they had to literally get around. She said, “There was a large beam in the middle of the food line, so they had to figure out a way to have the customers walk around it while ordering.” They ended up building it into the line as part of the decor, and most people barely notice it anymore.

The Alameda location will always be near and dear to us. It was a friendly, neighborhood restaurant when it opened to Mariachi fanfare back in 1996, and the team is still able to maintain that same feel today. We hope you’ll come by and see us!
