Once again Lae'zel you called me ugly before now you're calling me dominant and saying you like the way my sweat smells.

Also why now after we've killed a fuckhuge spider. Why is this currently your thought process. I am covered in viscera and gore and spider venom and you're talking about how I'll regret choosing Astarion over you. No I will not I promise you

SCARLET - How do they grieve?

Oof. He hasn't yet, but I don't think it'll go well. His family of monks believe death is simply one of many paths- either you achieved perfection and walk with Irori, or you are reborn to start the cycle anew if you didn't quite get it this time. Human monks aged and died while he lived at the monastery but due to this outlook on death, when the moment of sadness faded there was the expectation to see them again as either he himself would achieve perfection and greet them after death, or he would meet their reborn form.

He hasn't experienced a death of someone he actually cares about while walking the path. To be clear, he has killed in self-defense and he has stood vigil while others grieve if he came across them in his travels. But everyone's currently alive at camp, and no one I wanted to keep alive has died plot-wise, so... it simply hasn't happened yet.

(See also: very attached to his kobold friend, if he died I think Panic might just step off the enlightened path and go on a murder spree, and that could be a very interesting lawful good turned lawful evil fall from grace campaign. Still appearing to be a very even-tempered, kindly, charitable monk until you mention the people behind Rukbah's death and then you see the mask crack before he physically wrestles control back over his face. Hmm. BRB I need to ask my DM about something.)

(See also: loyal dog in terms of attachment/relationship style, but think less German Shepherd and more golden retriever that occasionally remembers it has teeth. Generally friendly, gentle, kind and fun to be around. Also! Apex predator, has not forgotten its own strength, be advised. You hurt the people he loves? Well normally he'd spout something about all life having value and the deeds of the world balancing out but before he does that he's going to make sure to cave your skull in. It's going to be *fun* meeting Cazador.)

That being said the stupid spider matriarch keeps killing the fuck out of my party and idk if it's because of approval and romance or if my game is bugged but Astarion and Panic are the only ones that react to *each other* dying. Karlach and Lae'zel just say whatever line they're going to say when they die and no one else says anything. But Astarion goes down and it's "NO this can't be the end" which I think is interesting to work into their dynamic and also sort of cute. Also Panic dw about it I recruited Withers no one's staying dead as long as I've got a couple hundred moneydollars.

I think reading about your experience in bg3 is so funny cause I remember at the beginning you were like “I’ll get through console games much faster cause I’ll be able to be comfortable” and it’s almost like hearing the grumpy dad complain about a new pet, because I don’t get the sense that you’ve been taking intermittent breaks.

Avatar

Oh I only play BG3 when I have a day off, and I'm actually in the middle of a midday break right now because my back was starting to hurt and I was making stupid choices and it was getting me killed and also annoying me lmao. Vs console games where I'm sitting on my couch and often play after work etc, getting on the PC is A Whole Thing and so I'm going MUCH slower than I would have.

To compare, I've been playing Baldur's Gate for roughly 2 weeks, and in that amount of time I've played maybe 25-30 hours.

I beat FF7, a console game, within 3.5 weeks at 150 hours. Granted 2 of those weeks I was unemployed and thus could play every day for hours at a time, but still. I put in about 100 hours of that over the course of the time I was unemployed and then did the rest while working my new job.

But also there is more, hmm, thinking involved with Baldur's Gate. FF7 was go to place and have a fight and select some options and watch some scenes. If I play BG3 like that I'll miss stuff because there's soooooo much to see and do and so many different options.

WINE - How do they act when drunk?

I don't know that he's ever been drunk (see also: self control) but he does occasionally get high when practicing his religion and mostly he just prays even harder. If I ever write fanfic for him maybe I'll write a thing where he buys the wrong type of pollen and gets unreasonably horny with Astarion instead of meditating extra hard.

APPLE - Messy or clean?

Clean, but only because literally all he has are the clothes on his back, what's in his bag, and a lifetime of memories about keeping the monetary clean. I think as the adventure goes on and he amassed more stuff, he'd quickly turn to messy because he has no idea what to do with so many objects.

JAM - Can they cook?

Can he cook well enough to feed himself as he walks the path of enlightenment? Yes

Is it good food to eat? Let's be real here, the first time the non-vampire members of the party tried his food they quickly realized that there is a difference between "cooked well enough to eat when camping in the woods" and "good at cooking"

ROSE - What gift would they most wish to receive from a lover?

Hmmmmm. Well he didn't really expect to get a lover until Astarion basically plopped himself onto his lap and batted his eyelashes. Again, fairly uninterested in all that.

But I think now that we've started the romance, anything that proves Astarion was thinking about him. A bit of ointment to rub into his horns especially where they connect to the head. Oil of his favorite scent to use on himself [or when fooling around........] or better hand wraps. He microdoses on hallucinogens sometimes when meditating, so maybe something like that after he's caught doing the first time. Not that he was hiding it, but the camp is loud and distracting, so he goes off by himself to meditate and no one knew he was huffing pollen in-between.

RUBY - What do they consider most precious/valuable?

In one of our Pathfinder sessions, my DM floated the idea of a small porcelain kobold figurine within which Panic's kobold friend is contained [details pending]. This idea was nixed not because it wasn't interesting but because roughly 2 minutes later my DM realized that the first NPC to steal this figurine and chuck it down a cliff was probably going to get Sparta-kicked off the ledge as well and then I'd have to roll a new character because Panic IS going to fling himself down onto the rocks trying to catch the damn thing. So within the multiverse of pathfinder night, what Could Have Been is definitely the winner on Panic's most prized possession.

I would say the Panic within Baldur's Gate universe probably has a holy symbol of some sort- a small metal piece with an open blue palm on it, scrolls with edicts written by the monks that raised him, an unfinished piece of rope he braids as he meditates. But these are just objects, and while he does hold them with fairly high value, if he were to lose them he can always replace them. His monastery is not destroyed and the monks within are not dead, so it's not like he can't go back and get another. Irori is also a really popular god for monks [in pathfinder] so it's also not like he can't stop by another monastery either- they might be wary of him due to being a tiefling and most of Irori's followers being humans, but also all he has to do is quote some of his reading and demonstrate that he is peaceful to them and it should be fine.

Anonymous asked:

Poppy, strawberry, and crimson for Panic (for the ask game). Would love to be infodumped about those ones 🙏

POPPY - Do they believe in a god?

Panic's patron is Irori, as the monastery where he was raised was devoted to Irori. Followers of Irori are all about enlightenment, self-perfection, balance, and discipline. Self-control, even at extremes. Panic is devoted to his path, and was wandering in search of enlightenment when he got tadpole'd

STRAWBERRY - What part of them is most like you? Was this intentional?

He is 100% the personality of dude [and collection of kinks] I think is super hot plus he is hugelarge. We've traded belly and hair in for horns and scales but that's okay he can still be my boo. It wasn't particularly intentional as I didn't have the revelation that I'm interested in men who are so [redacted] in bed or that I especially favor hugelarge gentle bears until a friend pointed out that my taste is fairly consistent now that I'm a proper adult.

CRIMSON - What would it take for them to kill someone they know?

You would... really have to try. Irori teaches self-control and discipline in all things, so killing someone out of explosive emotions would be way out of character for him. On the other hand, he will absolutely defend himself up to and including lethal force if need be, so literally you would have to genuinely be trying to get yourself killed by him and even then he'd still try to not. I think he would be much more willing to "kill" someone in his heart by acting as though they no longer exist if he has to stay around them, or simply leaving/telling them to leave and never come back if he has the choice.

He tends to give a "that is a bad idea, and I absolutely will hurt you if you try" warning whenever someone threatens him. In some cases, it works (Astarion stood down). In other cases, it doesn't (and then he ended up punching his way through the goblin camp long before Minthara came around the corner).
