My latest piece in art class is a watercolor of my friend Nic and I standing in front of the sunrise. My school has a ‘Sound and Vision’ night, where you can submit art (drawing, painting, 3D, digital), perform (music or poetry), or submit photos and videos. I decide to submit my watercolor just for fun, didn’t think anything would come of it (just compare it to the pieces surrounding it.) Turns out, when you know kind people that you can persuade into voting for you- you can win first place!

Yesterday Mrs. Kennedy, Ian's mom, texted me saying she needed my help. She wanted to invite a group of Ian's friends to Cold Stone, to surprise him for his birthday. I got to send out the invites, and share the looks as everyone say, "see you tomorrow!" After school today. The details are funny. To have a greater excuse for him to get ice cream- I told him I was beachside and wanted to meet him. As I was standing in the parking lot with a group of our friends I received a, "I'm sorry, not tonight!" text, we all laughed. Thirty minutes later we all hid behind the ice cream cake freezer and popped out as he walked in. This is post-surprise. I was still shaking with nerves and he was still surprised. It was quite the wonderful Monday.
