Mindclensed Tech Priest

@tech-priest-regis / tech-priest-regis.tumblr.com

Once known as Tech Priest Regis I now hold the title of Magos. While I may be damaged due to many cleansings of the mind I am currently mentally stable. Part of the Artisans branch of the mechanicus with a specialization with understanding xenos technology. While many of my own deem me as a heretech I can assure you it is for the imperium. (this is a rp/ question 40k blog. I will take all questions from other tumblrs and anons.)

Cooperative Training

Regis looking up frowned as he considered the climb before pushing the arms of his robes up his metallic arms to keep it from catching on his metal limbs as he reached up. Hauling himself up he let the tireless limbs carry him up as he looked for the damaged wiring as his eye scanned for the direct point he needed to fix. His mechandendrites flowed out from his body as they rolled about as they did their own things before the optical turned down at the noise below him. Curiously he looked down at the augmented guard following up under him with the same ease as he slowed his accent to look down at Garret as he tilted his head.  ++Is there something wrong?++

“Yeah. You shouldn't be climbing like this and leaving us down below without words”

Summery of time gone by

Regis grimaces as he has gotten his servitors for his own protection. Despite their heavily weaponized forms he could not help but feels like his luck would not allow for them to adapt to the troubles he tended to find himself in. Even with his personally developed upgrades, he rubs his cheek as he looks over the experimental work. Breathing out slowly he quietly sucks on the made nutrient paste to stave off the worst of the corruption from his forced time with the demon prince as he shivers to remember how enthralled he was just to be near them.

Regis opens the door as he looks puzzled at who was knocking on the door. Blinking he stepped back as he ran through the data banks before smiling despite a large gap in memory about the person before him.  The pain started as he felt the headache of locked memories acting up as he rubbed his temple as he stopped looking as it was something he must not of delt with but their wasn’t a warning so wasn’t her but something that happened around her.

“Andromeda. Its been some time.”

“Techpriests are pretty handy folks to have around. Mind wiping huh? You sound like you have seen some hell so out of respect I shall not further ask. I have had nothing but fond memories around you though.” She giggles. “It is pretty disgusting to know people have used you for intended evils.” She scowls. “I might still be a little protective over you it is just in my nature is all.”

Regis grimiced and looked away. "Mind wiping has its uses. But there are gaps that it seems like others wanted me to forget before I willingly went under. Most of the bad stuff i can not recall till the next batch of events are fixed. I... Havent gotten to the ones that involve you but i remember every thi g being nice." His expression softened with a mild look of worry as he knew it was about her but not that she caused it. As she mentioned people intending evil he rubbed his head."Yes well bad luck to have it happen but enough good luck to surive it. That has been my life, a series of bad events and stubborn enough not to give in." He rubbed at his cheek and closed his eye as he thought on his memories. "I have learned.... I do not like librarians they are cruel space marines and eldars I rather have shooting at me."

She nods and looks at Regis. “I very much agree. I am no longer an angry sister of battle, I was told I wasn’t showing enough rage. Thankfully Order of our Martyred Lady had room. But enough about me, you look like you haven’t eaten for days.” She hands over a bowl containing noodle soup. “Permission to enter?”

Regis quietly stared at her as his eye drifted towards the armor as he took in the armor and the changes before snapping out of it. His eye darted away before snapping back as he grimiced under his Rebreather as she pointed out his leaner form. Stepping aside he let her in as he responded. “Yes I was stuck on a ship after the storms started. We ened up crippled for some time. So …Well you know me well enough to know I miss meals.”

As she entered he closed the door behind her and snuck a glance at his mirror to clarify his apperance. It wasn’t that bad as he considered he has put a little but of weight back on with hearty foods offered at the church. Then his attenrion snapped to hiw did she find him in the hotel he set himself up in who I awaiting formal ceremony of becoming a magos. “Ah… Did you find me by chance?”

“Correct.” She nods. “You look fancy. What is the occasion Regis? It’s got to be something good.” She smiles at him warmly. “I’ve been taking on more responsibilities as Seraphim I forgot to talk to individuals in the past who made an impact during my walks of life. Now I wish to see how my old companions are doing. Perhaps provide help.”

Regis rubbed at his nose before wincing as his finger pulled at the stitches holding his skin together. “Oh hmm had to get new robes and finally took on a rank I been delayed for… Years. Before reentering the inquisition.” He coughed as he looked watched her as she was not the only one who was bad about remembering to keep in contact. When she mentioned old companions he perked up as it has been some week as he recalled Vespus and the others as it seemed like a twist in fate. “Funny… I tracked down Vespus recently and well ended up trapped on a ship with Brutis and the other blood angels we traveled with and … just strange we are all getting back in the same area about the same time.”

She gasps hearing his great news. “About time! You earned it. Perhaps I can visit to see you getting promoted? That would be grand.” She smirks. “Damn. This is great.” She smiles at him and pats his back. “You feeling nervous about it? Look at my tech priest improving himself.” She chuckles.

“Uh sort of. I mean it brings on more duties and… Politics.” He breathed deeply and closed his eyes as he pinched the bridge of his rebreather as he thought on having somone out side the faith there who did not know of the petty bickering inside the priesthood. While that would make another target she was a seraphim. The troubles between the esslisarchy and the cult of the machine would stall any assination attempts but increasse the amount of attempted intrapments. “Yes. Very much so seeing magos of various different sects will be there. And I would like for you to be there in your full armor and weapons.” Opening his eye it was clear there was general stress of doing any formal ceramonal events were he was a center of attention. This was not a side of his religion he really wanted to engage with but he made his choices and even if he didnt take a side like he did it would still be difficult.

Her eyes widen hearing his offer, “Y-You mean it? Of course I am happy to go! It would be an honor to see your big day. As a Seraphim I have been taking on lots of responsibilities myself. I think you will do fine.” She pats him on the back gently then adjusts his cloak to look presentable. “There, hope that helps a bit. A little goes a long way with impressions.” She smiles at him. “It feels great to see you again, hope you know that.” She chuckles. “Now…tell me how you have been. You must have some stories.”

Regis let his shoulders droop as she was fussing with his robes and closes his eyes as he does not fight the fussing. "Ah... Really even if i left the ship under extream duress it seems. My memory is slowly being repaired and working through therapy in steps." When asked for stories he blincks slowly before looking about in thought as he summerised his events. "I ... Yes but nothing worth talking about really. A trio of kids used me as a make shift parental unit after a mistake I did after I obliterated my original memories because I couldn't take it. But they are getting filtered over time and restored as tramas have been left out as I deal one at a time. Hmm was far to trusting... Seems like my skills or behavor is liked among questionable types. Galmech's chapter members are more then willing to kill anyone they see as a risk of a dangerious heretek. Hmm... There are a few things I don't wish to talk about involved with eldars and cultist." What ever about those two he mentioned was a clear sore spot he did not wish to talk about at this time.

Regis finally tracked down another member of a group he worked with as he rubbed at his healing sitches after somone sliced his face open. Shifting the large box under his arms he used one of his limbs to allow himself into the area the Blood Ravens were. Scanning the post humans, he stayed out of their way and out from underfoot as he looked for the familer astartes from a picture he had. Finally spotting the man, Regis made his way over and worked to get his attention. "Ah... Vespus?"

Avatar

Vespus was on a slight break from his crusading.  He had begun his usual rites and practices in his daily routine with his Battle-Brothers.  However, Vespus found himself unable to focus on that when he heard a very familiar voice call out to him.

Vespus almost spun around to look at the source.  When he saw his old companion from his days in the Inquisition, Vespus did something unusual for an Astartes: He put on a smile.  “Regis! It has been so long!” he replied, walking up to the Tech-Priest.  “I see you yet live.  That is quite the relief to find out for me.  What brings you all the way out here? Did you just come to visit?”

Avatar
There was a flash of childish wonder of how he once viewed the astartes when younger before he siffled it as mild embarrassment colored his cheeks. “Oh that is good!” He chirped out cheerfully. “I am sure Archmagos Dominus Cawl is quite happy about that.” He paused and looked down as he evaluated what he could offer to the cause before his shoulders slumpped ever so slightly as he really couldn’t. “Ah.. Things are going to go better right? That last push chaos hasnt made them any more dangerious then before..i mean.” He finally brought up some fears of the changes all the recent events now that he was out of direct conflict on the ship and able to think a past how to get a ship to a port.

“It will take a great deal of time before the Imperium can push Chaos back to the fullest, but with the full might of our forces at work, I am certain that we will succeed,” Vespus responded.  Vespus rolled his shoulders around some.  “It is not as if we are destined to fall.  We have lasted for 10,000 years already, and I know that we shall last for longer still.”

"That is comforting. Even if it isn't likely to be in my life time." When destiny was brought up he frowned as he hardly belived in such. However the addition of how long they have surived he nodded as he relaxed. Admittedly he had no idea what he would do if imperium would of fall. His mind drifted to history as he realized how little he had as he rubbed his head. But he stopped as he recalled he should give Vespus a direct line to Brutis. Scribbling down the vox frequency and the ship he serves, he handed it over. "Before I forget. Here is Brutis's information. "

“The Primaris? mercie-haemonculous be came aware of a Techpriest.

Regis woke up as he felt uneasy as if his whole chest was vibrating to tighten up. Rubbing his plated sternum so he can protect the tech inside of his chest cavity he looked about as he did not know what he woke up from his sleep. Yawning he continues to look about before laying back as he frowned as he hoped his sleeplessness wasnt returning so fast. Admittedly now what he was actually getting sleep again he should of suspected nightmares and the inability to stay as keep would return. Looking at the clock he folded a set of arms behind him as he staired up at the ceiling. As he half closed his eyes he fully had a memory of an eldar poke its self into his head as irritation and deep unease of being in a bed now pulled at him. Rolling out of bed he resigned himself to no more sleeping as he chected on his healing wounds and tended to them. But there was just an uneasy feeling of something watching that he couldnt place. Hopefully the protection of servitor guards will put some of this at ease once he gets them.

The haemonculous appears on his ceiling similar to a spider within it’s web. He hears a slight feminine giggle and whispered voice indicate, “Aren’t you just precious? I can taste that fear surfacing on your skin.” The sentence gets finished off by mad cackling.

The generally nervous techpriest felt his stomach drop as his finger pulled on his wound sending sharp pain across the bridge of his nose and under his good eye. Unable to stop the clock of pain as his teeth clenched, he twisted about defensively as his heart pounded in his chest. And it stsrted to beat faster as he took in the eldar female as he stepped back into the table. Extending his hand he called just the metal staff into his hand and a snap of electricity arched off it. Squilishing fear was never his strong suit as he reacted on his fear to keep suriving as his green eye locked onto her as his mechanical eye whirled about for other dangers.

Giving her a fearful glower he kept silent as his jaw was clenched tightly as one of his extra mechanical arms reached about for the las pistol he kept on him. “What do you want eldar?” He spat as he had no love for eldar and much more fear of the females after the corsair who just wanted a little fun.

She crawls across the ceiling on all fours and exits cackling maniacally as she departs. Her laughter echoes in the halls.

As the dark eldar left Regis powered down the staff and started to shake in terror as he sank down to his knees. A breath of relief escaped him as he rested on his metal legs and took deep breaths. While he got no answer he did not have to fight a loosing battle that would of been over in moments. His shots were bad and his physical fighting skills was mostly his strength if he connected with his attacker. IF he connected. getting to his feet after some time he locked the door then placed a set of bells taped to the window so he had a small warning about any thing new showing up.

A short laugh escaped him as there was a pained tone. “It was my greastest expertise wasn’t it. But it was what I ended up being good with.” Regis looked away as there was an emotion he had not let many see when it came to talking about his skills, a shamed acceptance.
“Ah well we do have to keep ahead of chaos and xenos forces don’t we.” The previous emotion vanished under hope and the brighter side of his work. “Even if it is using xeno tech and some heretical information to combat them.” He breathed out in a breath as he slumped a bit. “And hopefully it is a long time with out much direct combat.” He lightly rubbed at the burn scars he got from the librarian in the attack before he recovered enough to see people. “And hopefully my luck in not dying holds out as well. Much like your skills on the battle field.” He made a poor attempt of humorious flattery of his own mortality for Vespus.

“I would rather you not jest about the prospect of dying,” Vespus responded.  “Though only in death does duty end, that does not mean that we cannot make it last as long as possible.  Besides, your survival skills have proven to be quite capable since we have last met.”  Vespus decided against commenting on the usage of Xenotech and heretical knowledge.  In the end, Regis had a point, but he did not like to admit it.

Regis’s stance crumpled as his shoulders fell forward as he made himself smaller at the request about not dying. “Ah sure.” Poking his fingers together stilled as his survival skills was mentioned. “Er...Yes but i mean it would be nice if the situations did not happen. “Do you need some help?”

“You need something?”

“I think you knew my parents.”

“Hey, you dropped this.”

“Oh goodness! I’m so sorry!”

“Um… Hello…”

“What are you looking at?”

“Hey aren’t you ____?”

“Well I didn’t expect this to happen today.”

“I don’t know you, but will you marry me?”

“Skilled very since that was the only thing I seemed good at. And the title sort of is worth it. Just gets me a bit more clout with other mechanicus but more duties are expected of me.” He admited as he rubbed his head as it was a bit of a pain to deal with the politics he kept every one else out of if he had the choice. A soft laugh escaped him as he was told to guard the knowlage he has gained. “Absolutly. I been placing what I can where the information and knowlage will not cause more pain then I expect. It would be ashamed if someone hordes it all way not to be used. Admittedly not a lot of my stuff can be release to the public.” He breathed out as he wished he was not remembered for his hybrid technology.

“I suppose such is to be expected,” Vespus concluded.  “Your field of expertise was always questionable to the Imperium.”  Granted, Vespus was little better given his history.  He knew at least one unsanctioned mutant and consciously chose to ignore that status, on top of him knowing about a planet that was full of mutants and xenos, guided by something that may or may not be heretical, and he chose against letting the Imperium know about it.

“Still, it is good to see that you are applying your expertise as best you can with your new title.  Hopefully it will continue to aid you long-term.”

A short laugh escaped him as there was a pained tone. "It was my greastest expertise wasn't it. But it was what I ended up being good with." Regis looked away as there was an emotion he had not let many see when it came to talking about his skills, a shamed acceptance.

"Ah well we do have to keep ahead of chaos and xenos forces don't we." The previous emotion vanished under hope and the brighter side of his work. "Even if it is using xeno tech and some heretical information to combat them." He breathed out in a breath as he slumped a bit. "And hopefully it is a long time with out much direct combat." He lightly rubbed at the burn scars he got from the librarian in the attack before he recovered enough to see people. "And hopefully my luck in not dying holds out as well. Much like your skills on the battle field." He made a poor attempt of humorious flattery of his own mortality for Vespus.

"Ah... Vespus?"

“That… Must be nice.” Regis admitted as he mostly gets by with out having to write many reports to the inquisition but the mechanicus being petty for political reasons. But then again how space marines fuctioned remained a massive enigma to him when it came to their politics inside their chapters and groups. There was a moment he thought on what reports he had written in the past but it was all over his last mssions and the fact most of his first time inquistors were found dead or missing with little evidence of who did it. That was right no one really asked him to do paper work due to the signs of stress he continually showed when around his first inquistion group but relaxed around officials.
Shaking his head slightly he got out of his thoughts. “ Oh yeah. I finally accepted pending promotion to become a magos of my field. So now I can actually properly request a lab from the mexhanicus. Its been in the systems since before I first met you but with things getting… Hot with recent events it seemed like I should actually proceed and stop avoid the rank the priesthood been trying to tack onto me even if my area of study is not favorable.”

“That sounds like a wise idea,” Vespus responded.  “You always were capable as a Techpriest as I recall.”  And it wasn’t hard for Vespus to recall, given his gene-seed and his Chapter’s mutations on such.  “It is quite pleasing to see that things are improving for you.  With that new title of yours, it should be easier for you to accomplish your goals.  Knowledge is power, guard it well my friend.”

"Skilled very since that was the only thing I seemed good at. And the title sort of is worth it. Just gets me a bit more clout with other mechanicus but more duties are expected of me." He admited as he rubbed his head as it was a bit of a pain to deal with the politics he kept every one else out of if he had the choice. A soft laugh escaped him as he was told to guard the knowlage he has gained. "Absolutly. I been placing what I can where the information and knowlage will not cause more pain then I expect. It would be ashamed if someone hordes it all way not to be used. Admittedly not a lot of my stuff can be release to the public." He breathed out as he wished he was not remembered for his hybrid technology.
