The reboot nobody asked for. Picture our favourite Ed boys this time in an ‘80s sitcom setting. The show revolves around four boys who must room together, slightly against their will, at an-all male boarding school, Peach Creek Academy (I would have made it a military school, as this was the intended spin-off to The Facts of Life, but all the episodes featuring Bates Academy were boring and none of the characters were all that great. Boarding school it is). You got your smart, sarcastic one who wants to be a teacher (Edd), your funny, creative one who’s an aspiring writer (Ed), your shallow self-absorbed one who happens to be a rich bitch (Eddy), and your token minority who won’t let his status define him by idolising famous, successful minorities (Rolf). Instead of a housemother, the boys live with a housebrother. That’s right, none other than Eddy’s brother. When Edd and Eddy graduate Junior High above the rest and move on to attend High School at the end of Season 4, Bro leaves the school and decides to go into business. He opens a candy store, Ed’s Edibles, where he employs his brother and his friends as they work their way through school. When the store burns down in Season 7, Eddy proposes they open a gift shop that sells useless junk, which begins their scamming adventures. They Christian the shop Over Our Eds. This series, however, deviates from the original Cartoon Network version in that it deals with heavy adult subject matter (eating disorders, racism/ xenophobia, drugs, teen sex, prostitution, suicide, learning disabilities, etc.) in moral-based episodes. The theme song has also been updated to an annoying ‘80s jingle. You’re welcome. *insert laugh track*
