The End. To start from the beginning click here.

Enormous thanks to all of you reading this! For all the comments and the hype and the feelings! After almost five years, Heathen-Go-Lucky is finally complete! And it ends like it began - to the tune of a Starkid song.

This is the biggest fandom project I have ever completed and will ever complete. I would have never managed or had the energy to see it through if not for the absolutely amazing people I’ve met in this fandom! Thanks to every single one of you! So many friendships made, so many good times had!

I initially hoped I would do a huge amount of cameos in this last strip, but most of the people have moved on, and I have very limited time and energy. But we do get a cameo of the Whaler Silas who belongs to @korrenraa

And since it’s been years and some people might not remember how our heroes left Dunwall, here’s a link to that fateful moment that is now backfiring at Ipkiss something fierce. (haha, my art is not as good as it was, but at least we got the glorious technicolor! and backgrounds!)

In case it is not clear from the strip, Gladice is not truly gone. As a matter of fact, this unusual phenomenon on her grave is indication that her disappearance back on Pandyssia was no tragic accident - this was a triumph. I’m making a note here: “huge success”. It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction.

GLaDice will surely return from the Void and wreck havoc in Dunwall at some point. And let’s hope by then Renard has trained Micino well enough.

But that is a story that is left to your imaginations.

The comic is done. But I still intend to draw a proper cover, which I will post here and on @heathen-go-lucky at a later date (I will also update that blog to contain all the newer strips). And after that I will compile everything into a pdf and share a link here too. As well as some very early concept sketches and some curious tidbits of the cut story parts that I abandoned over the years in favor of this final version of events. :D

Ah. To complete a project. What a strange feeling. :’D

Heathen-Go-Lucky: Part 33

Corinne has heard a lot about Sebastian from her father’s letters, and Seb is stressing over nothing. Kind of like when he chased harmless Micino over rooftops for a year. But look, he’s learning.

This is the next-to-last strip.

I don’t know when the last strip is coming. Also tumblr in its wisdom made strip 25 unavailable, because I updated it to be more family-friendly and forgot to remove the warning from its tags. But never fear, I will later reupload the censored strip and it will be in a pdf I will whip up when the comic is done.

Heathen-Go-Lucky: Part 32

Ah, yes, Curious Ears, the infamous Eighth Stricture…

You may remember Sister Maria and her bet from earlier strips. So that’s why she was chasing Micino back in Dunwall! Look at that new light & airy Oracle uniform, I guess they went through a few different designs till they nailed the look we see some fifteen years later in Dishonored 2. :P

I never thought this comic will span so many real life years. But we’re almost there. Two whole games came out during this comic’s lifetime, and thanks to that I had some screenshots to use as background for Karnaca.

The next part is supposed to have cameos of the many people (particularly Whalers) who’ve fled Dunwall for Serkonos to start a new chill life. If we’ve interacted before, and I know your characters, tell me if you want your characters featured or not. It’s been so long, I’m sure some people have moved on. The new strip will take a while, so no rush. :3

Heathen-Go-Lucky: Part 31

What has Gladice done to herself? Will friendship bloom or wither when they return to Gristol? And what of the events of the Fugue? All these questions will be answered in the remaining strips. Which I will hopefully complete quicker than I did this one. OTL

The story is approaching its end. The good thing about the ridiculous delays I’ve had is I now have D2 and DOTO lore to weave into the ending. :D

So now that Renard is finally over trying to destroy Micino, maybe they can survive this encounter with the infamous Pandyssian bearcat.

Renard is referencing the prophecy that was kind of explained over here.

This took forever. I changed my initial plan for how the jungle part of the adventure was supposed to go. When the comic is finished I will reveal the bit of story I resigned from (that involved introducing a new character). I think the finally version is better for the overall plot and coherence.

Seb is having second thoughts about the Fugue, Micino and Michelle are bonding, and Gladice finally puts all that research into practice. Micino, you weren’t carrying the boxes around the Flooded District for nothing! Your reward is being tossed into the jungle to die. And the company is terrible. Congrats.

Here’s some soundtrack for the Pandyssia adventure to cheer you up, dear readers!

When Renard found out he is going to Pandyssia, two more Overseers decided to volunteer for the sake of a change in scenery - Matthew Yorkovich and Declan Papillon (they belong to connor-is-the-captain-of-my-bed). Barnacle and Shorty are my invention. XD The camp has been established some time before our heroes came, and by now all Overseers but Barnacle have expired (and I don’t mean of old age).

Nobody wants your love advice, Micino. You’re a barber, not a match-maker.

And after months of sea voyage, our heroes arrive to Pandyssia. Some of them no longer care if the land is a “heathen land” or not, as long as it’s land.

I’ve been waiting to make that Pendleton joke for months, finally!

Heathen-Go-Lucky: Part 21

Well, that didn’t go as badly as it could have. You owe your employer big time, Micino. And congrats on the new job… I guess…

Daw, Michelle, look what you did, you made him cry! That’s pretty evil for the sweetheart natural philosopher, that you are. Poor girl, she has got to be one of the two people who believe Renard’s attitude to Wilbur is just overly affectionate friendship (the second  person is Renard).

Sebastian, like many Gristolians, is racist. Not the kind of racist, where he treats non-Gristolians as sub-human, but the kind of racist, where he gives unfamiliar Tyvians, Serkonans and Pandyssians dirty looks. Captain Rowe is half-Gristolian, and is a patriot of Gristol, so Renard doesn’t even consider him Serkonan much (racist again).

Heathen-Go-Lucky: Part 20 (WOOHOO!)

Oh, snap, Micino. Overseer Derpface finally caught you red-handed. There is no way you’re going to bullshit your way out of this one!

You might be wondering, what Teague Martin is doing on the boat alive. Well, this story is set in such a Low Chaos version of events, that Pendleton and Martin were simply playing dead at that table with Havelock (man, they’re good - even the Heart was fooled). Anyway, both of them are sailing off into exile (Sokolov’s new expedition, if you prefer) to Pandyssia now. Emily had Pendleton under house arrest for a year, while his cousin took over what was left of his property. Martin was “advised” to resign from the post of High Overseer, which he did, and continued his service as a regular Overseer. Havelock is dead though.

P.S. Sorry for the supernatural size-changing box, I blame the Outsider.

Heathen-Go-Lucky: Part 19

Sebastian would pray for you, Ipkiss, if only you weren’t an egoistical lying, cheating, stealing ex-Dead Counter Stricture-breaker. Shame on you, Ipkiss. You weren’t even supposed to go.

The beautiful game screenshots in the first page are taken from the Dishonored wiki, and according to it, were created by Arkane… So I guess it’s ok to use them like this, credit given.

Wilbur Rowe belongs to luffik.

Next update will be October 12. Thanks for reading and for your patience!

P.S. There are three manwhores in this comic, try and find all three. XD

Heathen-Go-Lucky: Part 18

Poor Renard, you could’ve had him… if only you let him fall and break his… everything. Now you have to get on the ship to Pandyssia and who knows where the Heathen’s gone?

Maria Marzo is an Oracle, introduced in Part 12.

Thanks for reading and patience!
