Not employed by tumblr at all! Wish I was, honestly. It would be nice to be able to delete accounts and/or posts myself instead of having to report blogs multiple times until someone at tumblr actually decides to look at it and do something, lol.
Hello, I wanted to report something, but the report forms for both the tumblr report page and cybertip didn't work and I can't send you links so you can report it (it's a single image, not a blog). What should I do?
You can send me a link without the periods. For instance blogurl dot tumblr dot com / link address. Tumblr won't read that as a link. Or you could send it as fan mail or private message me the link.
How long does it normally take you to get an answer from Tumblr support? Asking as a person who is now on over a week waiting for clarification from the policy email they provide and three days for one request and over a week on another through the support feature.
Usually they don't do a follow up. Whether it's tumblr or the NCFMAEC you don't get a follow up. I personally keep a list and check back to see if the blog or content is still up in a few days and if it is, I report again.
Hello! Someone on Tumblr has been giving private out where I live, and they stalk one of my family members as well threatening me in the process. This person also is violent, and they make up the most twisted and the most terrible lies giving out some confidential information on her blog. I tried reporting her a thousand times to get her blog confiscated from her, but her blog is still up. What can I do to have this person banned from Tumblr? Thank you!
I’m a little confused. They’re posting your address? Regardless.. stalking and threats are 100% against tumblr’s guidelines and also it’s illegal so they should be reported to the authorities. If you’re having trouble getting their posts taken down, feel free to send me the links. If you need help with reporting to the police I can definitely get you the information for that aswell. I can definitely try to help! Are the things he posts that are triggering you in violation of any of tumblr's guidelines? If so, you can definitely get those posts removed. It's unclear (to me, at least as I do not work for tumblr) how/when tumblr decides that a blog is bad enough to remove the blog entirely. Sometimes theyll delete the blog, other times they'll just delete the posts that were in violation. Also (not to sound patronizing but some people dont know this) you can block this person so you dont have to see their posts ever again. I can definitely help you figure out your options and how to go about reporting his posts if that's what you decide to do. Just get back to me via asks or messages and I'll help in any way I can. :)
When I report a post will the person who posted it know I reported it?
No! Every report is anonymous. Tumblr will know you reported it but the person you report will never know unless you tell them yourself. :)

How do I report a blog on the app?
I'm going to do this one publicly because I'm seeing this message a lot since the changes. Here are the steps: Go to your blog on the app > Click the cog wheel button (settings button) in the top right corner > Click General Settings > Scroll down to ACCOUNT > Click the report abuse feature. Once there, there will be questions about what kind of abuse you're reporting and a spot to include Urls and usernames. Hope that helps! It's a little difficult but remember you can always go to tumblr.com/abuse and it will take you directly to the report page.

I just scrolled through their blog for quite awhile and I didn't find anything like that. It would be helpful if you (and anyone reading this answer right now) could send me urls to specific posts if the blog isn't obviously in violation. Some blogs are dedicated to child porn or beastiality so it's easy from post one to see what you're reporting for but their blog looks innocent from what I saw. A lot of my time is spent scrolling through blogs looking for something in violation and I can only go back so far because there's currently over 500 messages in this inbox with reports. I hope you all understand, it's a lot of work! I would love to be able to dedicate the time it takes to seek these posts out but I've got a busy schedule outside of the time I dedicate to this and I want to try to get to as many messages I can a night before I have to go to bed so it would be super helpful if you could provide direct urls. Sometimes, if it's something that is happening through private messages and not publicly, the only way I can help is letting people know the steps involved in reporting. Depending on the severity of the harassment you can report to tumblr or to the authorities. I would need to know the specifics in order to let you know what the process would be. Why hasn't tumblr made a built in blog report button for illegal porn? As a porn blog I always run across things that I would like to be able to report quickly.
I think that same question every single day. It makes no sense to me. Up until recently they didn't even have a report page, you had to actually send them an email which made reporting such a huge hassle. Tumblr definitely needs to improve.

Same anon-I'm asking more about fanfiction or rps where the authors are eighteen or older and the characters are sixteen or older, no young children. I know sixteen is illegal for pictures, and rightfully so, but does the same apply to text?
i would personally say yes but it's a bit hazy because laws regarding the legal age of consent are different everywhere. but where i am from the law says that a 16 year old is a child so anything sexual involving a 16 year old would still fall under the pedophilia category unless of course there is permission from parents, the people are within a certain age range from eachother, etc. but i mean online if you try to sign up for an account on a pornographic website it almost always states you have to be 18 or older regardless of what state you're from (in the USA at least) so i'm not sure. you would have to do some research on that to fully understand it. if you've seen someone writing about a 16 year old and you're wondering if you should report it-- go ahead and try! if it's not illegal or doesn't violate tumblr's guidelines then the person won't be punished and won't even know they've been reported. if you're the one writing about it i would suggest you do some thorough research beforehand to find out if that could land you in any trouble or simply change the age of the person you're writing about to 18 to avoid any repercussions

it depends, honestly. if someone is writing fan fiction about sex with children, that’s definitely something i would report. same if they were writing about how they wanted to have sex with children or were doing it (even if it isn’t true) because i feel like those people should be looked into. however if someone is writing a particularly brutal story that detailed gore vividly, i wouldn’t report that. unless of course that person said they were hurting someone or wanted to hurt someone. does that help answer your question at all?
Please continue to develop a space for people to report cp and other stuff. Not only is this shit on tumblr and Twitter. But people are putting it on adult sites (like pornhub) too. And while all the sites claim they regulate it, they do a horrible job! We need to start challenging these companies to do more!!!
i completely agree! i’ve been getting a few more of these messages lately and i really would like to do something more about it. maybe a petition, maybe calling/writing into media. i think that people would benefit from knowing more about it. a lot of people have NO IDEA how much child pornography and other illegal content is on this website. i really wish more people knew and were upset about it because i feel like if people were putting pressure on tumblr they would be forced to monitor their content better and improve their reporting feature
