Noctis (Final Fantasy XV) wig commission Base wig used: Inigo in Blue Grey from @ardawigs This is the 6th Noctis wig I have styled in the past 3 months..xD You guys really love him, hah? I have done 3 Gladio wig commissions, and recently got a first Prompto and an Ignis. Normally, I don't post pictures of every wig I style if they are the same character. This Noctis wig is a bit different than the one I posted. I made the spikes more prominent this time and left the "mullet" in the back longer. Wig commissions are OPEN! Nagito Komaeda (Danganronpa 2) wig commission Base wig used: Jareth in Silver from @ardawigs , dyed with Rit Dyemore dyes in Chocolate brown mixed with Apricot orange. Surprisingly, I didn't have to do a tons of trimming on this wig since the base wig has layers that are pretty good length for the style. Did a ton of teasing and hair shaping with a flat iron though. I used the same technique to get "wavy spikes" like in my wig tutorial for Dio (Jojo) wig. Wig commissions are open! Mai (Avatar: The Last Airbender) wig commission Base wig used: Silky Venus base wig in Onyx, and a leftover backparting piece from one of the Chibi base wigs from Arda Wigs. The hairbuns were made purely from hair that are attached to the main base wig. A lot of wrapping the gluing the hair on itself to create the shape. It's more natural-looking and secure since it is part of the main wig and not made separately. I'll be making a tutorial for the hairbun soon! Wig commissions are always open! Bokuto (Haikyuu!!) wig process. I used a Jaguar in Light Grey from Arda Wigs as the base. First, I used a seamripper to take out some wefts from the bottom part of the back of the wig. Then I glued down rolls of black wefts in place, making sure the black wefts are pointing upward. Since most wigs have the hair pointing downward in the back, it is harder to spike it up. So, changing the weft's direction help make it easier to spike and the hair will stay up longer with minimal hair product. I glued down some loose black wefts at the very bottom by the nape to create the "back hairline". I then cut layers all over and teased the hair up with a teasing brush. At this point, I sprayed Got2B freezing spray to shape the hair. I did a "new" way to do glued hairline this time since I had some leftover lace fabric that I trimmed off from other lacefront wig. The lace fabric was glued to the underside of the wig along the hairline. I started gluing down small pieces of light grey hair (from the rolls of wefts that were taken out in the first step!) using Fabri-Tac glue on the lace fabric. I laid the hair down on the glue, spray it so it temporarily stick together, blow-dry it, then I applied tacky glue about 1 cm from the root of the hairline. Using my fingertip, I pressed down on the glue spot and drag the glue to the root and repeat for the whole piece. Doing this will nicely spread the glue so that it dries clear in thin layer but still cover all the roots of the hairline throughly. I cut a bigger piece of loose black weft to glue under the lace fabric infront of the ear area for sideburns. Then I continued to glue down hair and finished the hairline which will then hide where the sideburns start. More loose black wefts were added to the front hairline for variation. The hairline won't look perfect but you can go back and point-cut it with your shears so the roots are more pointy. Final trimming and then it was done! Let me hear you say "HEY HEY HEY!" 😎😎 Wig commissions are always open! Email me for a quote at pisaracos@gmail.com

Bokuto (Haikyuu!!) wig commission Base wig used: Jaguar in Light Grey, and extra wefts in Black from Arda Wigs This wig was a challenge mainly because the reference for the character changes alot, even from the official source. So I had to use my artistic judgement on where to place the black "highlights". Custom glued hairline was added for the front as well as the back by the nape area. I'll be putting up a short tutorial for this wig soon if you're curious how I made it. :) Wig commissions are open! Please email me for a quote at: pisaracos@gmail.com

Shiro (Voltron) wig commission Base wig used: Marty in Black, Marty in Silver (custom dyed), and weft in Pure White from Arda Wigs I spliced two Marty base wigs together to make this wig. If you are able to dye a wig black then you could just use one Marty. I used RitDyemore in Graphite but could not get a solid black color on the silver Marty. The grey turned out quite nice though. Here's a wig tutorial as promised for Lucio from the game, Overwatch. I was asked by my client to make this wig's ponytail to have more of a natural fall while still look accurate to the game design of the character. It was a learning experience on my part as well since this is the first time I made a full wig using textured hair/weave. I used about 5-7 packages of Kanekalon Definition Braid hair in color "27" which is like a light brown shade from a local wig shop. ($10 per pack) You can purchase this from online sites like Amazon or Ebay as well. Mojito Twist braid synthethic hair is a good alternative. I don't recommend cheap braiding hair to make this wig since it's too light and harder to shape. The methods I used for this wig are not meant for using in real hair or everyday-wear wig, only cosplay wig which is not meant to be shampoo'd (you can do spot-cleaning or use dry shampoo). Please be open minded as I am still learning about making this type of wigs too. :) Here are the steps: - Lucio has 6 large dreadlocks that make up his ponytail, so you want to make 6 tails separately at first. Measure and cut floral wire to be about half the length of the final length you need the tail to be. Wrap the floral wire with soft batting (the stuff for making blankets), cut several 3-inch-wide strips ahead of time. Secure the batting strip as you wrap it with a dot of hot glue as needed. Wrap it more tight at the beginning and wrap it more loose towards the end to create bigger shape. Stuff a bit of fiberfill (the stuff for pillows) inside the tail at the bottom to help it maintain the plump shape. Then use strips of brown tulle fabric to wrap around the tail over the batting layer. Doing this will make the hair stays on better when you glue it later to the tail. - Cut about 1 and a half inch of definition braid hair and start wrapping it from the base where the floral wire pokes out. Apply hot glue from the start and keep applying bits of hot glue on the tail and wrap the hair as you go. If the hair fray while you do this, use Got2B freezing spray and pat the hair down. I prefer to only spray one time when I finish wrapping a whole tail so I don't waste too much hair spray. - When putting the 6 tails together, the ponytail will be heavy, so you want to make some kind of foundation that will go under the main wig. There are many ways to do this, but I used elastic band with corset boning and a hairband to put together. I used the floral wire length that poked out from each tail to wrap around the hairband to attach it. - Use a wig cap meant for wig-making as a base. I used an extra large one but still have to add some net fabric in the back to enlarge the cap even more. Before you do all that, make sure to pad the foam wig head so it's accurate size to whomever the wig is for. Pin the ponytail foundation to the foam head. Cut the back of the wig cap to open it and cut a circle on the top where the ponytail will poke out. Place the wig cap on the foam head and sew the back seam shut with wefting needle and wefting thread. Cut and sew lacefront fabric to the front along the hairline part of the wig cap. Leave the length as shown in the pic for now. - Use a small piece of hair to wrap around the wig cap starting from the top area near the base of the ponytail and work your way down. Use little bit of Fabri-Tac glue (or strong fabric glue) to help secure the hair in place. - Use Fabri-Tac glue to "draw" lines on the hair on the wig cap. Refer to your reference for the character. Lucio's hair in this area looked like zigzag rows of dreads so I made the lines as such. Use the tail of a fine-tooth comb to press down the glue as you apply so the hair where you press will stay down, thus create dimension between each row. Once the glue completely dries and harden, cut into the front hairline to make angled hairline shape. - Paint the lines of glue with acrylic paint that closely matches the skin color of the person who will wear the wig. This will be fake scalp part. Then cut short piecese of hair (about 2-3 inch short) and glue it down on the fake scalp line between each row using Tacky Glue (or craft glue that dries clear) This step will take forever to finish but the result looks good and will look like the hair is growing out from the scalp. - And you're done! Use spirit gum or lacefront tape to secure the front hairline down when wearing the wig. I added flexi-comb under the front part of the wig as well because it will slide back from the weight of the tail. I hope this tutorial was helpful for you guys. Now you can go and heal your team as Lucio! "Amp it up!" 😎

Wig Hack Wednesday #7! So, many of you guys are probably familiar with the wire+tape method to make drill curls in wigs. But did you know you can also use wire+tape for spikes? You can get more natural-looking spikes that won't flop over time with this method. And you won't have to spend hours glueing hair down on a foam core. This method is good for long spikes that stick outward like Axel from Kingdom Hearts, or Aigami from Yu-Gi-Oh! In this tutorial, I used a Vegas base wig in Dark Blue from Arda Wigs Here are the steps: - Section off hair for the spike. Cut a piece of floral wire in the length you need for the spike plus extra 1 inch (you will know why later). And sandwich the wire between two strips of clear heavy-duty packaging tape. Trim the tape down to long triangle shape - Divide the hair you parted eariler into two sections and clip them away (make sure the top section has more hair than the bottom). Stick the end tip of the wire into the wig cap and have it poke out below. If you need to, use your shears to punch a small hole in the wig cap so the wire can poke through - Bend the end tip of the wire up into the main wire to create a triangle leg that will help support the wire's position. Hot glue part of the wig cap to the wire inside the leg to secure it - Tease the inner layer of hair from each half of the spike with a teasing brush or fine-tooth comb - Comb out the outer layer of the spike to clean it up. Put glue on the wire and press down the top section of the spike first - Do the same for the bottom section of the spike - Trim more layers near the tip of the spike to create more dimension - With a flat iron on medium heat, flip the end of the spike to shape it, hold until it cools - Comb the outer layer of the spike, spray it in place with Got2B spray, and use Got2B glue or Tacky glue to secure the tip And that's it! Enjoy your cool spikes with minimal effort. I hope this was helpful to you guys. :D

Throwback Thursday Styling Tip this week will be focused on how to create custom glued hairline on a wig from scratch. Now, I know there are tons of glued hairline tutorials out there, but I do it a little differently and I found it to produce a pretty realistic result without the hairline “floating” problem. The wig in this pic is a cheap wig I bought to style into a Kurogane (Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle) wig. I used the same hairline technique to create extremely unique-shaped hairlines for the Vegeta (DBZ) wig and Yusuke (Yu Yu Hakusho) wig as well. Using this technique is easier to get accurate custom hairline which is very difficult to replicate with a lacefront wig, especially if you don’t know how to hand-ventilate hair. - On the inside of the wig, glue a strip of clear vinyl fabric on with Fabri-Tac glue. Hold until it completely dries. I chose to use clear vinyl because it’s waterproof and can be shaped with heat from the hairdryer if need to. Since it’s waterproof, when you wear the wig and apply spirit gum to glue down the inside of the hairline to your forehead area, it will stick better and is easier to clean off the residue later. - Pin the wig on a foam head. Use a marker that’s close in color to your wig and mark the hairline shape you want. You may want to do the marking while trying the wig on to make sure it works for your forehead shape. Cut off the excess vinyl outside the marked area. If you need the vinyl to be larger for more extreme hairline, you can cut in darts and Fabri-Tac glue it so it’s more curved to your forehead shape, and not pointing out straight. - Mix craft glue and water in a cup. I used Elmer’s clear glue. You can use regular Elmer’s glue or school glue, but I find the clear Elmer’s glue to be best for dark colored wigs. Mixing ratio of glue to water is 3:1. Make sure to not use too much water, you want a syrup-like texture after you mix it with a paint brush. - Cut a small piece of hair from loose wefts. Point-cut into the tip of the hair piece to create varying points and thin out the tip. - Brush on the water-downed glue to the tip of the hair piece on both sides. I don’t go above one inch from the tip. Use your finger to squeeze the glue on the hair to help spread it through all layers and to help flatten the piece. - It should look flat and pointy after it dries. You can make a lot of pieces like this and set them to dry on a big plastic bag. I make about 30-40 of these hair pieces for a normal wig’s hairline. It is time-consuming but the result is worth it! - Next, put a thin layer of Fabri-Tac glue on the back of the hair piece. Press down the hair piece to the clear vinyl in the center. Fabri-Tac takes longer to dry than hot glue but it’s more permanent and won’t cause the hair piece to be bulky. - Continue the same step as the last. Make sure to position the hair piece so that the tips go a bit past the clear vinyl. This will help cover the seams and hide the vinyl in the process. - And you’re done! Enjoy fabulous hairline. Make sure to research how to apply and remove spirit gum before wearing the wig.
