Sappiness ahead

Hi, I’m not going anywhere with my blog, but uh, it’s been almost a decade since I started. I signed up for this site during my freshman college year, about a year’s time after I came out for the first time in high school. I’m pretty sure I started it because fellow college gayby classmate @sporkthepanda and others were doing it. 

Like for so many users, this has been a place to feel less alone. To gleefully discover that your niche of specific interests spread to others around the country and the world. To find that, yes, others are equally obsessed with NBC comedies, Sondheim, young adult novels, and ABC dramedies. Marin Mazzie bootlegs, Klaine kisses (LMAO), Tony night blogging, short-lived Bryan Fuller and Amy Sherman-Palladino shows. To realize that it’s okay to give so much energy to what makes you happy, be it a TV show or movie, no matter the target audience or genre.

AND after feeling shame for most of my life before I was 18, to find that there is a space where your queerness and your attraction to certain bodies can be celebrated was such a gift. To celebrate your numerous boy crushes, to claim that attraction to various skin colors and body types is valid as hell, to learn the sex stuff you weren’t going to learn anywhere else! 

I’ve also learned a lot about film being on this site, following users with a wide scope of knowledge, or just as eager as me. 

Anyways, I’ve graduated college since I started and I’ve been on long enough to watch others make college acceptance posts and post their graduation pictures. My mental health has gotten increasingly worse, but I’m still here. On this beloved hellsite.
