Lattes and Engagement Rings
Loki smiled softly and looked back up at her, “Mother- thank you,” he said, taking a deep breath, “I would… like to visit. But not now. Asgard still leaves an unfortunately bitter taste in my mouth. I wouldn’t keep Thor from you- I don’t know why he hasn’t visited,” he chuckled, “I’ll tell him you asked him to. I would visit but… I feel like… I need to figure out where I belong first.”
He sipped his own coffee and gave a small sigh, “I think I almost feel like I belong here. I can just… blend in. There is so much to see in Midgard, and information and knowledge is prized here,” Loki said, “It’s so different… their technology is behind ours but the innovation is incredible.”
Frigga watched Loki and she took his hand. She pet the back of it gently and nodded. "Of course. Whenever you are ready." she smiled to him. "I am just glad you found somewhere that you feel you can belong." she said. "I'm glad you are happy here." she smiled. It pained her to know that the home she'd tried to make for her child was not somewhere he considered a home anymore, but his happiness was first and formost to her.
"Just keep in touch. Even if you have to use Thor as a messenger." she said lightly. "You do what you need to do, it is obviously making you happy and well. There is nothing I want more than that." She wanted Loki to be happy. She felt, again, pained because she wasn't able to provide that happiness for him. Yet she was a strong woman and as long as Loki was content and happy now, she was happy to see that.
"Loki, I am proud of you, to see how you have grown despite your set backs." she rubbed her thumb across the back of his hand gently. "Never forget that."
