Because LARPing is Badass

…I just woke up from a dream in which there was an app that notified you when nearby LARPs needed an NPC, and you could, like, go pretend to be a surly shopkeeper or whatever and get paid, like, $10 for it.

A new forge prop for Dystopia Rising!

It’s an upgraded version of an old forge prop I tossed together in an afternoon for a friend. This time I had a budget to work with and didn’t just make it out of literal trash, lol.

I installed a lamp fixture on the base and ordered a really nice flame effect LED bulb for it. The flickering light really kicks up the immersion :3

In game, this forge will allow people to use a variety of metal related crafting skills. The little card sleeve on the inside is to safely keep the item card of the forge itself stowed away and also to place the cards of the items and materials that are being worked on.

The blow torch that comes with it even lights up when the trigger is pulled!

Why is LARP so much more taboo than historical reenactment why is pretending you’re a wizard less socially acceptable than pretending you’re a confederate

This…is…a decent question.

I agree. I’d much rather have wizards running around than confederates…

I’d pay to see a wizard ruin a reenactment

(Now with 100% more Kickstarter Video)

I’ve spent the last two years working with Ian Powell and Michael Pucci to create this graphic novel. It’s about a hundred pages, and every single one is fully rendered and painted to the best of my ability. I’ve poured my heart, soul, and body into this comic, working with and through my chronic pain and other health issues all the while.

Being a comic artist has been a dream of mine since I could pick up a pencil, and this is my first chance to have a published comic. I’ve worked so hard to bring you all something that I, myself, would love to buy and read.

The best part: the comic is pretty much completely done. There are a few final details, such as setting up for print and digital versions, as well as the Kickstarter, which mainly covers the costs of printing in bulk and paying the artist and writer. We already have made substantial progress towards our goal, but we still have a long way to go.

So if you like zombies, post-apocalyptic worlds, or just want to support me as an artist, check out the Kickstarter, look at the reward tiers, and consider throwing some help our way!

If you don’t have anything to spare, signal boosts are always appreciated.

wOOOOAAAAAH we’re HALFWAY THERE!!

145 away from $4000!!!

$1279 to go! Then we are gonna start rolling out some stretch goals!

Some photos from After the Fall. A post apocalyptic LARP game in Melbourne that I ran and documented. The players got really creative with their costumes and were feeling real emotions. Now we need to up the ante next time.
