Hello there, Miss Meyo! I'm actually an Indonesian artist who's too lazy to log out of their ask blog account haha. If you don't mind me asking, do you have any tips for cons? For instance, how much money should we prepare? Where should we print and what other misc. things do we need to prepare? Oh, and also, where do you print your stuff? They look so HQ and the colors turn out very pretty *v* If it's too much of a bother, you don't have to answer hehe. It's fine!

Helloooo!! :D Hmmm, cons eh. I don’t have much experience with cons because I’m not really an avid con-goer (I’m terrible with interacting with people irl so cons kind of scare me), but I will try to help!

Money: because my main trade is through online stores, I always use the money I earned through my online sales as the capital (modal). How much money you need is really dependent on what you want to sell. I think when I went to my first con in 2013 (and I didn’t have any online store back then so I had to try very hard to get money), my capital was around Rp 700.000-ish, which I used to afford buttons, stickers, and acrylic keychains. If you want to print books, books cost like Rp 30.000-40.000 per book so you will have to have quite a bit of money to print them. I think for a start just sell buttons, stickers, acrylic keychains, and small things in SMALL AMOUNTS, unless you’re VERY sure there are people coming to buy your art. (I’ve seen very enthusiastic newbies who made too much stuff aaaand ends up having lots of leftovers)

Printing stuff: We are blessed with lots of good printings here, honestly. You just need to google ‘cetak pin’ or ‘cetak gantungan kunci akrilik’ and you will find LOTS of options. I print my acrylic keychains here: http://fjb.kaskus.co.id/product/000000000000000016514642/jasa-pembuatan-gantungan-kunci-atau-key-chain-akrilik, or you can also try Ronita Printing, but Ronita IS expensive and their quality can be a bit unstable. For buttons, I print them here: http://star-pin.com (they’re very good AND very cheap). As for books, I print them in PrintPress in Serpong (they have a branch in Jakarta called Jaya Agung if I’m not mistaken) because I live not very far from there and they can finish lots of things in a short amount of time. Plus, their employees never ask you stuff like ‘what is this for?’. I know it can be scary, especially if you’re printing BL stuff lol

Misc things: PREPARE LOTS OF CHANGE. Cons are usually swarmed by kids holding money fresh from the ATM and they will bring Rp100.000,-s and Rp50.000,-s. Prepare lots of Rp50.000,-, Rp20.000,- etc. Also, keep some kind of a list so you can keep track of how many items you’ve sold. Hmmm, also, don’t be like me who stays silent behind the table (I’m too afraid to try and attract customers) and try to attract customers!

I hope this helps! Just ask me again if there’s anything else you want to know :D

You might wanna bring some display needs for cons! Back then when I’m tabling for the very first time, I’m very short on display items/needs. Canvas stand and some kind of board are your best friends! (If you have any other stuff to display your work, that would be even better. Attractive display is not a must but I advice you to do so! It’ll eventually attract customer c: )

Why Magical Girls Are Never Attacked During A Tranformation

As some of you might already have guessed, I’m a fan of Japanese girl idols. One of the many, many idol groups in existence today in Japan is NMB48, a Osaka-based spin-off group of the (in)famous AKB48. NMB has a weekly show that’s surprisingly entertaining as well as educational called NMB to Manabu-kun, in which the members of NMB and a few comedians listen to guest lectures by experts in various fields.

Back on May 15th, the theme of the episode was pataphysics/the science of sci-fi. One of the topics of the lecture held by university professor Yanagita Rikao was the age-old question of “WHY ARE MAGICAL GIRLS NEVER ATTACKED WHILE TRANSFORMING???”

This was his answer, based on the magical girl series Futari wa Pretty Cure.

Question: The transformation scenes in Pretty Cure are very long, so why don’t the bad guys attack the girls in the meantime?

“Even when I was little, I was thinking ‘Hey! Attack them now!’”

“I found this odd as well, so I watched the transformation scene many times. And what I noticed is, when the Pretty Cures yell ‘Dual Aurora Wave!’ and transform, a rainbow-colored column of light shoots up from the ground, going BOOM!”

“And then the Pretty Cures levitate, and go up into the air. Based on this, I believe the protagonists of Pretty Cure are being held up in the air by the power of light.”

“When we think of light, we usually think it heats up things or lights up things. But in reality, light has the power to hold up things as well.”

“When the sun is beating down on us in the summer, the human body is being pressed downwards by the sun beams with a force of 2/100,000g.”

“But this is only about a one-hundred of the weight of a mosquito, so no matter how hot it is, we don’t feel that sunlight is heavy.”

“So that means the light holding them up must be extremely strong. If we assume that the two Pretty Cures each weigh about 45kg and do some calculations…”

“It means the light during the transformation must have the energy of 2,100,000,000kW per 1m2.”

“While the entirety of power that Japan is capable of generating is only 100,000,000kW.”

“So they’re using 21 TIMES the amount of energy the whole of Japan can generate.”

“So what would happen if a bad guy jumped in to try to sabotage their transformation?”

“He would EVAPORATE INSTANTLY.”

DEATH AWAITS ANYONE WHO DARES TO DISRUPT A PRETTY CURE TRANSFORMATION.

“So this means the best thing to do would be to transform close to any bad guys.”

“Yes. They are the strongest while they transform, and are practically invincible.”

When you apply science to magical girls, you find out just how strong and horrifying they really would be.

Like seriously, what have I done? xD

Maybe this is somewhat Jelsa AU, where instead of being secret agents, both are spouse with ice power hidden from each other? Or agents with ice power…. idk, I leave it to your imagination. Anyone willing to write fic about this? :P

Wow, it’s been a year! This manip was first posted on March 17th 2014, and now a year has gone by. I was new to tumblr back then, and I was really surprised this one got lot of notes (still surprised too by current numbers). I met a lot of friends, I learned a lot of new things, and I laughed and enjoyed these past year through this fandom, Jelsa fandom. Thank you for one year support for me and this AU!

I’ll try to update new chapters this year and hope you still stay tuned for Mr & Mrs Frost. Thank you and I love you all! <3

(also going to watch Cinderella & Frozen Fever this Thursday, can’t wait!)

Take that time by yourself to get to know yourself and rediscover what makes you shine. Don’t surrender yourself to waiting, and don’t stay isolated for too long, because there’s a beautiful you the world is dying to meet.

I would just like to point out that the beginning and end of Spirited Away creep me out in the most delicious way possible. I’ve always been a fan of fairy tales, and not just the Grimm and Anderson stuff, almost all my life. Like the honestly faerie court stories.

Themes you see in those reflect strongly in this movie, and comparing them side by side just makes it that much more stark.

Often times you hear that if you get sucked into the fairy realm, you shouldn’t eat their food. It gives them power over you. More often than not, heroes finally escape the fairy realm after what they perceive to be a very short time (a night or a week)…

…only to find that seasons or years have passed.

‘Hey, it’s all dusty in here. Is this someone’s idea of a joke?’

CRAPPING SHIT I WHY HAVE I NEVER NOTICED THIS

This always freaked me out a little as a kid. Like the OP, I couldn’t help but wonder how long REALLY passed. I always pretended it was something like a week but… Judging by that moss, I can’t say for sure.

A week? Try much MUCH /MUCH/ longer. The plants are a good indicator but a better one is the statue. We’re seeing it from the same angle in each shot. Look in the first one before she enters, it’s not NEW but you can tell what it is.

Now look at the second frame. It’s so eroded it’s just a dull, flat stone.

That thing is solid stone, that must have taken up to, if not more than, a DECADE to wear down that much.

Not to mention that there are new trees next to the car. Just remember how long it actually takes for trees to grow real quick.

Evidence is suggesting they were in there for maybe around 20-30 years.

I’d like to point out that “not eating from the other world” is a constant theme in many stories.

A most well-known example i can think of is from the tale of Hades and Persephone, when Persephone eats from Hades’ feast.

And the stone is also an indicator of its own. a milestone if you will; in film it is used to represent another dimension.

e.g. both the food and the milestone have also been used in Pan’s Labyrinth.
