I believe this summarizes my feelings and I feel grateful not to be alone ( I mean, I knew I was not alone in my deception and anger and sadness) but once again, it’s good to hear all my opinions expressed by other people too. 

Worth watching...I actually couldn’t wait and watch it at work LOL LOL !! Sharing for all of you outside who used to love this show.

People who still have faith that RT will actually work on evolving Veronica as a character and have her see the error of her ways and finally become a semi functioning adult, have a lot more faith than me. 

From all the interviews it appears that stunted, mean, traumatised Veronica is what he thinks is “interesting”. It would seem this OOC Veronica is the one who will be sticking around. Factoring in all her loved ones being away from her doesn’t exactly bode well either. If Wallace and Weevil got so little when she was still in Neptune, there’s a good possibility they will get nothing or next to nothing in any future seasons. He has said he wants to focus on the mysteries first from now on and essentially turn Veronica Mars into “Noir” Murder she wrote and I never wanted Murder She Wrote, I wanted Veronica Mars and all those who come along with her.

I’ve avoided posting or discussing articles by cast/ crew which which I don’t agree, because everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. But I feel this statement is a deliberate PR misdirect ploy, meant to reframe the backlash as ‘fans being silly’, and KB keeps repeating it in every interview. So, to refute:

1) No fan I know is mad that Veronica turned down Logan’s proposal initially. Pretty much everyone thinks the choice was in character. Veronica’s first line in her first scene, season 1, was something along the lines of ‘I’m never getting married’ and she stated it as an absolute.

2) Veronica DID want to get married and commit in the end, though. You know how I know? Because she did get married. To Logan. By her own choice. In a scene which KB presumably remembers, because she filmed it.

3) How is it distancing the show from ‘John Cusack with the boombox outside our window’ to promote the new season’s theme song with…John Cusack Rob outside KB’s window? This season’s promotional material was 100% tropes she claims they eschew. Which makes their PR a beyond-cynical bait-and-switch con, designed to trick fans into watching something sure to upset them.

The talking point in this interview is a straw man argument, formulated to make the speaker seem more rational and progressive than her opponent. The real reason fans are mad is because the male co-lead was fridged to re-traumatize our heroine–the writers think V’s only interesting when she suffers. And that viewpoint is not feminist or progressive at all.

To add on to these great comments, I find it maddening when Kristen or Rob says it’d be boring if everything worked or if there was no conflict and they were happily married. NO ONE believes there would be no conflict or challenges going forward, we KNOW these two. They both have such troubled pasts and are emotionally damaged, we were interested in how they were going to navigate those scars in adulthood. It would be fascinating. We already see how much Veronica devolved in S4 to the point that I didn’t even like her. A first. Like actual grownups, people have to deal with a lot of shit in their lives while working or chasing their careers. No one looks at this show as a teen drama anymore so stop using that as the crutch to have made this drastic change. We are all adults here, we wanted to know what Logan and Veronica were going to do now. Life is filled with both happiness and messiness. To only be tortured is dull and exhausting as well. And don’t let me start on what a disservice that death was in every possible way…to the storyline, the show, Logan, Jason, Veronica, the fandom. Face it, we’ve all been burnt. We loved this show so much, every aspect of it, of course we’d be upset but not for the reasons you keep repeating.
