Q: What do you think of your last scene in Game of Thrones?
Nikolaj: In real life, it’s never: “Since you did this to me, you betrayed me and I will not love you anymore. We are done. This is never how it happens in a long-term relationship. We can have a great argument, and be reconciled. And another. And another one. When you’re really connected to someone, it’s hard to undo those links. Love is a strange thing. The relationship between Cersei and Jaime is one of the things I find very interesting. On the surface, their relationship is messy and they should not be together. But it’s easy to say from the outside … My last scene is absolutely fabulous. It was the perfect way to finish for him.

what do you think of jaime saying he never cared about the innocent people of king's landing?

people are really mad about that, aren’t they? i’m not, because i always knew jaime would always always put cersei before anyone else. and they keep bringing up the fact that he killed aerys to save the people of king’s landing, but they never considered cersei was not in that equation. whereas she was very much in this equation, and he has made it abundantly clear so many times that when it comes to choosing cersei or literally anyone else, he will always choose the former. as nikolaj said, even the one time he did not (when he rode north) he was in a way choosing her again, because he was rising north to save her and their child (his words, not mine). so it makes perfectly sense that he would pick cersei over the people of king’s landing. also re: aerys, people tend to forget (and jaime SAYS IT IN THE BOOKS) that aerys literally ordered him to kill his own father. jaime in the books did not save the people of king’s landing out of the goodness of his heart, he did it because if he didn’t kill aerys then his whole family would die, be slaughtered, and jaime is all about the family. perhaps more than any other character in the series.
