Les Miserables Dubai Cast

“The production will be sung in English by a sensational international cast, led by current Broadway stars John Owen-Jones as Jean Valjean and Hayden Tee as Javert” X

 So apparently the international / Asain Tour / World Tour cast will be the cast in Dubai other than John Owen Jones and Hayden Tee going the cast and replacing Simon Gleeson and Earl Carpenter.

Helen Walsh, Kerrie Anne Greenland, and Chris Durling will not be returning.

Rachel Barrell in the first West End brochure she appeared (left) in VS the last brochure she appeared in (right)

I’m not quite sure what’s doing it, but she looks younger and more fiesty in the first photos than in the last ones. Which does correspond with the change in her portrayal. It’s just weird seeing it so clearly in photos.

AND CHRISTINE!

The extent of my great idea began and ended with “Reimagined Wishing” “Schuyler Sisters” and “hamilton crossover” and when it came time to come up with a clever pun or lyric crossover my brain was totally fried, so if you’ve been chomping at the bit to do a musical mash up you have my blessing.

I debated briefly with whether the navy layer would be the overlay or if the Wishing print would, but from what I’ve seen of most gowns from around that time period, the floral print was usually the topmost so that’s what I went with. I also gave Christine her traditional hair rather than a more colonial ‘do because the idea being the Hamilton design was always to stick with the person’s original look from the neck up.

Got in a bit ago from Les Mis on Broadway, and it’s much too late to be comprehensive. But it was a lovely cast and a wonderful performance and I still can’t believe I got to see John Owen Jones live. He is my favorite Valjean ever. Ever ever. E v e r.

I mean, I’ve heard recordings, so obviously I knew how beautiful his voice was going to be, but I was so impressed by what a good actor he is as well. His stage presence was amazing and his interpretation of the role was just. exactly. what I wanted. always.

The stage door experience was great, everyone was lovely, I gushed at JOJ I don’t even know what I said.
