So fucking true. My mom was the absolute worst. She snooped so bad that I had to resort to hiding papers I used in bottles of lotion until I could flush them when she was sleeping or stepped out. And I was doing nothing dangerous. There was no justifiable excuse. She wanted absolute control. There were bars on my windows at 11. Eventually she took my room to use as storage and made the dining room my bedroom. Ppl had to constantly walk through my room to get to the bathroom or kitchen. Everything I did was watched. I had to get dressed in the bathroom for years. I stopped having a diary by the time I was nine because my mother read mine and overreacted to a diary entry about a dream I had had about kissing my first little crush. A FUCKING DREAM! She questioned me like I did something wrong recording my dreams down. I obviously was not doing anything sexual at that age...as an adult, I now do not trust anyone or anything; I've lost my passion for writing; and I have terrible anxiety. Parents should have a bond with their children not nazi them.
