Not a great week of running. I am not sure if the mileage is catching up with me or what, but I haven't been motivated to get out and get it done. Only going to get about 40 miles in this week, well short of the scheduled 62 miles.

But hey, a brand new week is about to start. 62 miles is on the schedule again, so I get another shot. 🤞

Had to switch my 10 mile morning run for my 5 mile evening run. Not looking forward to that 10 being in the heat.

Stupid Tumblr

It eats my post all the time. I just get mad and kill the app. Here is try number 4 for the week.

Long run tomorrow.

Edit: Yes! It worked!

Went 6 miles last night followed up by 7 miles this beautiful, yet hot and humid morning. Tomorrow is a rest day. 60 miles for the week. Next week is a pull back to 40 miles, which I am looking forward to. Now I get to spend the rest of the morning in a bleed control class. Hopefully I don't let anyone die. Have a great weekend!

As you can see, 7pm and still a little warm outside. I think I will wait until the sun goes down to get in my 5 evening miles. At least the humidity is much better today! 10 miles this morning. Not as bad as the past few days but still hot. The end of next week has mid to upper 60's as the lows in the forecast. I can't wait!! 🤞

Umm...yeah, it got done.

4 am wake up to get 8 miles in before the storms arrive. 78 degrees and 100% humidity, yuck! It's done, and we didn't even get wet. Well, unless you count me being soaked head to toe with sweat. It really looked as if I went for a swim, fully clothed, not a run. 4 more on tap for this evening. If the storms persist, I may have to make it date night with the mill. The sad thing is, my building keeps the temperature in our gym high. So, I can't even escape the heat by running inside.

Anyway...3 miles yesterday followed up by 10 miles this morning. 75 degrees and 100% humidity at 4:30am sucked. At least it was a flat hot 10 miles.😜 5 more to do tonight. Maybe this front will move out the humidity? One can always hope! Happy Monday!

26 miles done yesterday! Ran the Honey Stinger race course two days early since we were not going to be in town to do the actual race on Sunday. I feel pretty good overall other than getting a blister on my right heel. These shoes normally don't give me blisters, so I am chalking it up to me having them laced to loose? Traveling back to Arkansas/rest day today. Back at it tomorrow with a short run in the heat and humidity. But at least it's flat, yo!

Mileage Summary/Update

Last week was the first bust since I started my new training schedule. Missed 15 miles for the week. I just wasn’t feeling it, so I took two days off to rest. I am back at it now, and this week is going to be a tough one.

The week started with a mountain half marathon and will end with a full mountain marathon on Friday before we head back to the land of the flat on Saturday.

I don’t have any races on the schedule right now, but I do have a few in mind.(I will keep you posted.)  I am currently focusing on increasing my mileage each week, keeping most runs easy, not getting hurt, and losing some more weight.

This summer has been more of a hike/run combo with all the mountains around and me wanting to keep most days on the easy side, but I think the extra time on feet will be an asset later in the year.

Total Mileage for July: 204 miles

Total mileage YTD: 974 miles

The Lakes…14 miles

So begins the start of Half/Full week. Today, we knocked out a half-marathon (plus a little). On Friday, we’ll knock out a full-marathon. Why? Who knows. The hubby makes the schedule; I just follow it.

Today, we drove up to the Continental Divide. This particular section of the Wyoming Trail takes you past several lakes, which from the air, look like a string of pearls. We saw Fishhook Lake, Lost Lake, Lake Elmo, Percy Lake, and Long Lake. (I won’t bother showing you pics of each one; they all look the same!)

We managed to see lots of deer. We also got stuck in a torrential downpour of rain. Fun times!

I am going to be lazy today. This happened!

Have a great week.

A little off schedule

So I did 11 on Monday, not the scheduled 16, saying I will get the leftover 5 on Tuesday. Got my 8 miles in for the day today, but just not feeling that extra 5. I am now pushing that 5 to tomorrow's rest day. Fingers crossed that it gets done then because the rest of the week is already full of miles. 😳 56 mile weeks in the mountains = killer. I am not looking forward to the heat of Arkansas, but the flat terrain will be very inviting when we head back in another week.

Rest day today! Tomorrow is 16, with 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening, but may switch things up a bit.

A few pictures from this past week's adventures. (Check out the bear 🐻) Monday- 8 miles Tuesday- 5 miles Wednesday- 5 miles Thursday- 8 miles Friday- 11 miles Saturday- 14 miles Sunday- Much needed rest day! Week total: 51 miles (It was supposed to be 52, but I looked at the schedule wrong and only did 8 on Thursday instead of 9. And yes, I almost went out today, on my rest day, to get that other mile. It was hard not to. I know we are already two weeks into July, but here goes the June recap: 185 miles for the month of June. I was able to keep up with the schedule even with all my travels. I am still keeping everything slow to keep the HR down. No injuries yet with the steady increase in mileage. I contribute that to keeping everything nice and slow. I hope this trend continues as I creep into the 60+ mile range in the month of August. I will try to get back to daily recaps. 🤞 Have a great week!

Been awhile since Posting an update. Sorry! Still running and traveling. I will try to give a better update later in the week. I will say I am in the 50 miles a week range now. No injuries as of yet. Woot!

Colton Creek….8 miles

This…It was hot with about 1500ft of climbing. I needed 9 but only got 8 in today. I will make up the mile later in the week.

Tomorrow is a rest day while I travel. I will either be in the air or airports all day tomorrow. Not looking forward to it!
