In the ruins of what had been Nasser hospital, the biggest in southern Gaza, Reuters saw emergency workers in white hazmat suits digging corpses out of the ground with hand tools and a digger truck. The emergency services said 73 more bodies had been found at the site in the past day, raising the number found over the week to 283.
Gaza authorities say the bodies recovered so far are from just one of at least three mass graves they have found at the site. "We expect to find another 200 bodies at the same mass grave in the coming two days before we will begin working at the two other cemeteries," Ismail Al-Thawabta, director of the Hamas-run government media office, told Reuters. He accused Israel of carrying out "executions" at the hospital and covering up the crimes by burying bodies with a bulldozer. Israel strongly denies having carried out executions.

Restarting this post for a couple reasons
We're two disabled trans women (and a cute cat) who have been strung along for almost a year and told that housing and education would be covered, this has not happened and has no indication of ever happening at this point. I am going to drop all of my projects at this point and seek aid. There will be no more Ricky, no more PierMesh, no more Y232 until we can get at the very least our housing secured. I'm very grateful that strangers are able to come together and support each other but I'm also incredibly mad at how the world has failed the people of Gaza, made them choose between leaving their homes and living in safety, and making them pay so much money to cross the border. I'll never forget how every institution that should have protected them did nothing and exploited them for money
Neither will I. There is not 1 institution, not 1 establishment, not 1 agency, NONE. There are none that have done right by the people of Ghazzah. At all. I will never forget it. The fucking cunts at the Egyptian border are fucking multi-millionaires by now. And for those who know how low our currencies in the region are compared to the American dollar (which is what is being demanded in egregious amounts) you know that these agents taking this money are filthy filthy dogs.

URGENT! HELP NEEDED (4/18/24)
so shit hit us HARD this time. i was only able to work for an hour before my car started acting up. i was only able to get it parked a couple blocks from home as of now.
i cannot work, and electricity and rent are due by the first. we've been on payment arrangements for electricity, but since we missed one payment, they're now demanding 1,200 (200 short of the full bill) to not shut us off.
i know i'm asking for a LOT here, along with car repairs, but every single bit helps me so so much to keep providing for my kids.

The Canadian and Ecuadorian governments continue to forge ahead with free trade agreement (FTA) plans, despite opposition from social movements and Indigenous Peoples within Ecuador, along with rampant instability. In these negotiations, the spotlight is on the Canadian mining industry. Canadian mining investments in Ecuador are valued at $1.8 billion, with Canada’s trade commissioner noting that Canadian companies are “leading investors” in Ecuador’s mining sector. The trade commissioner also praises Ecuador’s “mining-friendly legal framework.” On March 5, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa met with Justin Trudeau in Ottawa. Both leaders welcomed “the imminent launch of negotiations toward a Canada-Ecuador free trade agreement.” The day before, Noboa spoke at the 2024 convention of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), an annual event that promotes Canadian mining interests globally. March 4 was “Ecuador Day” at PDAC, and Noboa used the opportunity to promote his country as a “mining destination” to Canadian investors. This is despite what MiningWatch Canada calls “serious human rights violations [that shed] light on the state of conflict over mining projects in peasant and Indigenous territories” in Ecuador.
