Blast From The Past // Bonjoviqueen & Arrogantandglib
Damon had been greeted with the knowledge Stefan was out that day weeks prior to their meeting that day, so initially, he’d opted to make the most of it by staying at home. He could call Ric to join him for drinks back at the Boarding House, he could invite one of his many recent conquests over with the same reasoning - although not with the same intentions, obviously - or, he’d considered with a smug smile, he could even stop off to visit Elena at some point. Pestering the brunette had become one of his favourite pastimes in recent years; she was just so easy to rile up, and it didn’t hurt every now and then to cause a small rift or two between her and Stefan. Damon was just like that… a dick, to be blatant about it. He didn’t really think about the consequences. Although recent decisions aside, it was obvious that morning that his plans had changed, as the dark-haired male slipped his leather jacket on in front of the mirror by the front door.
Not through prying in the younger male’s diary, surprisingly, he’d discovered just who the lucky lady currently holding Stefan’s attention was - but he’d have to make sure to remember to remind his brother not to leave his phone lying around, for future reference. Or, rather, he probably should do… whether he would or not, was a different matter entirely. It wasn’t his intention to go ‘cramp Stefan’s style’ at all, but he couldn’t deny, when he saw the name at the top of his list of recent conversations, he was curious. And although Stefan had attempted subtly to disguise the texter, the initials at the top of the conversation - ‘L.B’ - spoke volumes. Lexi.
He’d wanted to make his presence known, he couldn’t deny, ever since. But Damon wasn’t one to just show up completely without reason… so he’d been more than thrilled when, an hour or so after Stefan had left, his home phone was suddenly blown up by the excitable yet extremely irritable whining of Miss Caroline Forbes. And, looking for his baby bro, no doubt. So now he had the knowledge, and the reason… he just had to get himself there.
Strolling through the doors into the bar not too long later, hands slipped idly into his pockets while his heavy boots tapped in syncopated rhythm against the floorboards, Damon’s lips curved up into a subtle, half-smirk as a quick glance to his left clocked on both Stefan and his lunch date. He didn’t really draw out his appearance - he could feel her eyes on him already, and it was just too tempting - and instead, faked a nonchalant glance around him, before ‘spotting’ the pair and wandering over.
"—Blondie’s been racking up her phone bill this morning trying to get a hold of you, for, whatever reason,” he remarked towards Stefan, interrupting them mid-conversation as his hands rested against the back of his brother’s chair. And then, head still tilted down toward Stefan, blue hues flickered up; slightly amused, almost playfully watching her momentarily through his lashes. “Lexi,” he then addressed, drawing the word out before, still smirking slyly, he looked back toward his brother.
