send me a crystal and i'll tell...
I just though I’d share some photos of my dogs. Most of them are of Seshy (short for Sesshomaru), the male, the one looking away in the 4th photo is my dog Honey. (Seshy’s sister.) She doesn’t like her photo being taken. Their mother is in the last photo, and her name is Rosa.
The signs as urban magical creatures
Aries- Beings of psychic powers. They’re the radio hosts and talk show stars. Their hair is perfect. They sense what the audience wants, and make it happen with a snap of their fingers. Have you ever turned on the radio to find your favorite song already playing? That’s from them. They thrive off of applause, cheering, and loud singing along in the car.
Taurus- A sort of vampire that hangs out in hidden bars and clubs of streets you’ve never explored. Killing for blood is so last century. They live off elixirs equally as sweet and just as dangerous. Elegantly dark glasses of poison. Winged eyeliner. Black boots. Tattoos. Strikingly white teeth in a smirk from the bartender, who hands you an intoxicatingly sweet, scarlet beverage. A drop runs down from the corner of your lip. You’re one of them now.
Gemini- Charming street performers on the sidewalk. Card tricks and acoustic guitar, the occasional juggler. Judges of character. Throw them a dollar and they’ll grant you good luck with a wink. If you don’t have a dollar, don’t stop walking. Don’t make eye contact. If they meet your eye or you stop, you must give them a buck. If you don’t, they’ll give you a nasty case of bad luck.
Cancer- I’m the greenest part of the park, they lay in the grass, soaking up the cool shade. They’re a sort of nymph, who’s legs hang down from tree limbs. They feed the pidgins and the squirrels in exchange for information as to what’s happening outside of the park fence. They sell art on the edge of the grass. They’re voices are smooth and their faces are sweet.
Leo- Spirits of the night, who thrive on city lights and the energy of large groups of people. The glimpse of a beautiful face, who smiles or winks, then gets lost in the crowd. They’re like smoke, impossible to catch. That enchanting burlesque singer who’s name was never announced. The magic in their eyes and on their lips looks like glitter, and if they decide to let you join their club, you’ll never want to leave. You’ll live in the night forever, as one of them, and you’ll instantly forget about the life you lived before.
Virgo- They start off as lost souls. They wander the streets, looking for pieces of others to rebuild themselves. They might pick up a smile. A walk. A habit. Eyes. Phrase. Laugh. They are the feeling when you meet someone new, but swear you’ve met them before, and not being able to place it. Maybe in a dream? You may have known they’re smile, back when it belonged to someone else. You can’t get them out of your head.
Libra- City fae, light on their feet. The sudden wind that catches you in an alleyway. The distant feel of bass from an underground club that you can’t trace. Have you ever been out and misplaced your cash? They may have borrowed it for a round of drinks. Every time you find a few bucks on the ground, that’s them slowly repaying you.
Scorpio- Ageless beings who roam the museums, libraries, historical sights. They read and reminisce. Gentle fingers run along the side of an old book spine, absorbing the emotions of everyone who’s ever picked it up. They sit in front of histories treasures behind glass, sketching down the images to keep for themselves, because they know that even the museums will be gone one day. They hold onto the stories. They are the keepers of the past.
Sagittarius- Cab drivers and hot dog vendors. They’re ghosts. Seemingly normal, average, ordinary… They’re invisible. Can you remember what your last cab driver looked like? Probably not. You didn’t notice them, and you guess they didn’t notice you. You’re wrong. They see everything. They know everything. Anything whispered in the back of a cab or by passers by, every secret on every street. No one ever thinks they’re listening. They are the ears of the whole town. No one thinks they care. No one ever cares to strike up a conversation with them, but if you do, they always have the best advice, and something to offer.
Capricorn- Genies and Faerie God Parents who grant wishes as they work in retail. They can find exactly what you want, before you even ask. The ones who direct you to the perfect pair of shoes, the ones that most certainly weren’t there on the way in. When the only dress in your size happens to be the only one on sale. They usually work in vintage stores, collecting jewelry and belts and bags and keeping the stories behind them forever.
Aquarius- Shape-Shifters who work in pairs. Most are kind, only using their magic for their own fun. Others take pleasure out of messing with humans. Taking the form of someone you know only for a second and calling your name, just to see if they can turn you around with confusion. Daring each other to change into celebrities and run down a crowded street. harmless, unless provoked. Then they could probably trick anyone into doing anything. For example, distracting you as you try to cross a busy street.
Pisces- These beings are easy to spot. Angelic creatures who are to lovely to be from this world. The ones who play dreamy melodies on classical instruments on the walkways of large parks and gardens for pennies and smiles. They take away stress from passers by, and replace it with gold light.
Sephiroth after training.
Someone asked for this so I take it out separately.

Meili & Peter - Mursteg footbridge, Murau 1995. Initially built as part of a timber construction exhibition, the bridge allows pedestrians and cyclists to traverse the Mur river, crossing the body of water and compensating for multiple elevations on each bank through four separate entries. The entire bridge envelope is actually a large scale Vierendeel girder, which unlike a traditional truss that relies on diagonal connections, allows for large rectangular openings. The walls adjacent to the entries of the bridge act as the vertical transverse stiffeners, and the roof and platform serve as the bottom and top chords. This strategy allows for a large opening in the center of the bridge, creating a beautiful picture window that captures the river and surrounding town. These vertical members are also slightly staggered in plan, ensuring that there is diagonal sheer strength while also forming separate circulation pathways for pedestrians and cyclists.
While a traditional Vierendeel girder is constructed with steel, the Mursteg bridge is constructed almost entirely of wood, creating an unprecedented set of technical complications. Each timber element is fastened with a unique method in order to support the structural forces within; the top and bottom chords are made of pneumatically pressed glue laminated wood planks assembled in pieces, which were connected on site with an epoxy glue. The vertical sheer walls were similarly glue-lammed, but then reinforced with a dense nailing pattern. A post-tensioned cable was installed on the lower chord; and in tandem with the dead-weight of the roof, stiffens the entire structure. The complex engineering performed by the architects in conjunction with Jürg Conzett and Kaufmann Holzbau results in a deceivingly simple and beautiful landmark for the town, in which the spatial design is a direct manifestation and expression of the inherent structural properties of timber. Amazingly surreal Las Pozas in the rainforest by Xilitla in the Mexico mountains. Created by Edward James in the 40′s, it includes more than 80 acres of natural waterfalls and pools interlaced with towering surrealist sculptures and buildings. The many trails throughout the garden site are composed of steps, ramps, bridges and narrow, winding walkways that traverse the valley walls. It was supposed to be a “Garden of Eden” containing a huge variety of plants and animals.
marte.marte - Schanerloch Bridge, 2005 (top 4) & Schaufelschlucht Bridge, 2012 (bottom 4), Dornbirn. Two bridges of a trilogy of infrastructure projects (the third yet to be built) by the firm that enhance a small mountain road that winds through the hamlet of Ebnit. Each bridge is designed with extreme clarity; a pure physical expression of the structural forces needed to traverse the spans over the gorges along the route, articulated with a monolithic concrete.
