Four. And a shepherdess. Farming is incredibly hard with small kids. Four seems to be the point where, suddenly, their help is *actual* help. This one is a watery little human and I wasn't sure "four" was going to be the marker for her... yet. Here she is. She helped jug up this new mama and baby after getting the last ewe out of it. She is fearless and fierce. "Hut! Hut!" She'll call out to get these animals way bigger and infinitely stronger than her out of the way to where they need to be. Then grab a gross, wet lamb without the bat of an eye to get it done. Iodine, drench, ear tag, wormer. She knows just what I need and hands them to me as we repeat the process for each new lamb. 14. 15. 16. Make it stop. The incoming storms always bring a bunch of babies at once. 9 today. In a few hours! I've run out of pens, I'm using the isle. I've found a couple of problem spots because if trouble can be had, a sheep will die by it. 😑2 of these girls were rescued from those spots and I have no idea who mamas are. **You got 'em? I'll take 'em!** -Baby blankets (esp receiving type blankets, cotton) -outgrown nappies/diapers. All sizes. Is saves my floor, my sanity and they look adorable. - towels. Dish towels esp. A good rub down after birth does wonders. I never thought I'd run out but I'm close!
