Honestly, I applaud any woman leaving any so called "women's only" group when a man is allowed to join, but I can't help but think that's part of why men invade our spaces. Yes, it's because of their identity, and they want to be validated, but I bet it's also to make sure women only spaces do not exist. So while women leaving is valid and I 100% get it, I can't help but think that this is also a goal of these misogynistic men. You either have the women who stay to validate and they lose their female only space. Or you have the women who refuse to participate and they leave, and they also lose their female only space. I honestly don't know what women should do in situations like this. How do you help preserve these female only spaces when the people who run them allow men in? It's just a lose lose situation for us :/

My favourite thing about Fantasy High is that Brennan just went "yeah, the idea of a DnD-style adventurer's high school is incredibly fucked up, this is an unsanitiseable premise, these kids are going to the most fucked up high school you can imagine" and just fully leaned into that. In episode 1 he marched Aguefort up in front of the school to deliver a speech that told the players and the audience what the deal was and stuck with it. It's a fucked up school run by a guy who doesn't know anything about education. It's training people to do a job that probably shouldn't exist and kids are running around murdering people and that's just what they do. It makes no sense. It's fun as hell. Let's go with it.

i see so often people talk about how labels like lesbian or gay are limiting and are boxes into which they do not fit and I wonder if this is because people turned sexualities into personalities and they no longer see lesbian as a woman who is attracted to woman but as a set of characteristics in which they do not fit. no one ever says that calling themselves blue-eyed is limiting even though being blue-eyed and a lesbian are both innate things which are just. there. I hate sexualities being called labels or identities for that reason, like it does a good job in separating our sexuality from us

Witch hunts are still a thing. Women are still being burned for being 'witches'. This is something that's happening right now. In the name of Christianity. Evangelical Christians also want to stone homosexuals to death. Evangelical Christians support child marriages and they want to take away women's rights. Evangelical Christianity is maybe the fastest growing religion in the world right now. And they are targeting particularly vulnerable communities (in Africa, in Latin America, but also in Europe with Romani people) on purpose.

Also, the reason why you get the impression men of color and migrant men are 'more likely to be rapist' is because people of color and immigrants face way, way more police scrutiny and are more likely to be charged and jailed for violence against women (as they should!) whereas white men and middle class men usually face very few police scrutiny and are way more likely to get away free with assaulting and raping women because they hold white and economic privilege. men of color and migrant men are not 'more likely to rape women', they are just less likely to get away with it

Literally. The number of cops convicted of domestic violence is disproportionately high. How many you think got away with it? Most of them white. Of course they're not going to put resources into investigating white male rapists. And yet even from the information we do have...the biggest threat of rape to white women is white men! Men rape the women they have the most access to.
