Imagine Ketterdam centuries in the future, where all six crows have become saints, and their shenanigans have too many references sin history books to be written off as fairytales.

Kaz Brekker, the Saint of thieves who takes pity on the lost souls and evokes power into the hearts of crooks.

Inej Ghafa the Saint of the abused, holding a protective hand over those who share her story and causing slavers great misfortune.

Jesper Fahey, the Saint of treasure whose name those whisper at gambling tables for good luck and is said to guard all zowa.

Wylan Hendriks, a Saint of runaways who watches over the shaken souls and bruised children who slip out of their bedroom windows to start new lives.

Nina Zenik, the Saint of lovers who couples leave offerings to in hopes that their love will be eternal, no matter what.

Matthias Helvar, the Saint of soldiers who younglings going to war pray to for mercy, and known to protect Grisha when called upon.

FORESHADOWING IN ACOTAR YOU MAY HAVE MISSED

*Spoilers*

1. Feyre painted the night sky on her drawer in the cottage.

2. Feyre had heard of Rhysand long before she met him. She recalled hearing of “One High Fae that could turn your bones to dust from a hundred yards away.”

3. One of the first things Lucien says to Feyre is that her eyes “are like stars.”

4. When first arrived at the Spring Court, Feyre unknowingly dresses herself in Night Court colours. (A dark blue tunic, another tunic “one of purple so deep it could have been black.”)

5. When Lucien and Feyre encounter the Bogge, Feyre distracts herself by thinking of “a starry, unclouded night sky, peaceful and glittering and endless.”

6. Rhysand appears as a “shadow I could never quite glimpse” in Feyre’s nightmares before they met. “Behind me - a shadow lurked - no, watched. I didn’t dare turn to look at it, to see who might be within the shadows, observing.”

7. Amarantha appeared in Feyre’s nightmares before she knew of her, as a “A pale, faceless woman dragging her bloodred nails across my throat” - a nightmare of Rhysands perhaps?

8. When the Suriel told Feyre to “Stay with the High Lord”, it didn’t specify which High Lord.

9. When Tamlin takes Feyre to see the pool of starlight, she describes the setting filling her with “both longing and mirth…it just seemed…right.”

10. Despite only having heard and not seen the Attor, Feyre manages to paint its exact image “a tall, skeletally thin gray creature with bat ears and giant, membranous wings.” How would she have been able to do this? Possibly an image from someone else’s mind?

11. During Calanmai, Feyre disregards Tamlin’s order to stay in her room as “there was a string - a string tied to my gut that pulled me towards those hills, commanding me to go, to hear the faerie drums…” “but a wild wicked voice weaving in between the drumbeats whispered otherwise. Go, that voice said, tugging at me. Go see.”

12. The first thing Rhysand ever says to Feyre is “There you are, I’ve been looking for you” before telling the three lesser faeries, “Thank you for finding her for me.”

13. During Feysand’s first encounter, Feyre thinks to herself Rhysand’s words “were tinged with an arrogance that only an immortal could achieve” to which he “laughed under his breath” having heard the insult.

14. When Feyre first drinks faerie wine, she describes it as “like a million fireworks exploring inside of me, filling my veins with starlight.”

15. Still intoxicated she states she wants to swim in the night sky, “to bathe in its colours and feel the stars twinkling between my fingers.”

16. Tamlin and Feyre had their first kiss during the shortest night of the year.

17. Rhysand states “only my prisoners and my enemies call me (Rhysand).” It’s then interesting that Feyre refers to him as ‘Rhys’ in her POV in moments when she can see beneath his villain mask. (And EXTRA interesting when she refers to him as such during their first kiss.)

18. When Rhysand senses Tamlin and Lucien have hidden Feyre “a flicker of excitement - perhaps disbelief - flashed across his features.”

19. Rhysand was the only person Under the Mountain that bet on Feyre slaying the worm.

20. Feyre’s bargain tattoo is similar to the Illyrian tattoos that are given for luck and glory.

21. When Rhysand dressed Feyre under the mountain he crowned her with a “small golden diadem imbedded with lapis lazuli” - a stone that inspires confidence and is worn by royalty.

22. When Rhysand informs Amarantha of his bargain with Feyre, it’s also an act of defiance as he mentions the bargain is “for the rest of her life”, hinting he believes she will survive the remaining tasks.

23. Before the second trial, Rhysand dresses Feyre in a ‘blood orange’ gown - a colour symbolising good fortune.

24. During their first mind convo, Rhysand says “Good girl.” (Not a fact, just hot tbh.)

25. When Rhysand sends the music to her cell, she unknowingly imagines Velaris and “a palace in the sky of alabaster and moonstone, where all that was lovely dwelled in peace…everything I wanted was there - the one I loved was there-“

Rowan and lyria/ Elucien comparison

This post will me comparing the parallels between rowan and lyria and elucien and their mating bonds . this will contain throne of glass spoilers so if you have not read the books please scroll away.

Rowan and lyria’s story is something that was tragic but the way they met was the most interesting part and is very similar to Elain and Lucien. Rowan and lyria met at a the market where he instantly knew they were mates. Rowan had felt the bond the moment he laid eyes on her and that was exactly how to it was for Lucien. After the cauldron had turned Elain into Fae Lucien looked at her face instantly knew they were mates.

Now with lyria and Elain they are very similar and Sjm had used the same exact words to describe them . It was stated how lyria sold flowers at the market and Elain Also garden and plants flowers but the parallels between the two of them are outstanding and sjm did this intentionally. Lyria is described as kind and quiet “she has been gentle, and sweet, and quiet, and a kind. A different sort of strength”. Elain is always described as kind and gentle, and light, even feyre herself had said Elain had been the strongest out of all of us but sjm used the same exact words for Elain and lyria. Here is the quote.

With Rowan and Lucien using similar words to describe their mating bond with lyria and Rowan. With Lucien it was a constant struggle with the mating and he usually speaks of the mating bond with Elain in a negative way. In chapter 24 of acowar Lucien describes jesminda and compares her to Elain but the words he used we’re very interesting. Lucien says “ she had chosen him, Elain had been thrown at him” also uses similar words and says “but not what he had chosen for himself”. There also a quote in acosf where Lucien says “ I’m not always in the city to see my mate. The last two words dripped with discomfort”. With the mating bond both Rowan and Lucien felt a tug on the bond, Maeve had made Rowan feel the tug on the bond and Lucien had felt it with Elain. “ there’s a bond- it’s s real thread”, “ it was easy to tug on the right physical thread they day Rowan saw lyria”. Rowan also talked about how difficult it was to court lyria and it was the same with Lucien and he even said to feyre “ I can’t stand to be in the same room as her”, I don’t want to be shackled to her”. The bond used negatively when it is described with lyria and Elain and it is very different from the way feysand, Nessian, and Rowaelins bonds were described ,and it’s also interesting that all of sjm main couples that were mates fell in love before they found out about the bond and it was not like that with Rowan and Lucien.

Now I’m going to get into Maeve and the cauldron and how they are similar. With the cauldron we know how is powerful and it is and how it created the acotar universe and with Maeve we were aware of how powerful she was and she was able to fake the bond between Rowan and lyria without anyone knowing. It was also mentioned how much the caldron loved Elain and how it gifted her with powers because of how lovely she was , and we know how it purred in her presence. Since Maeve was able to fake a mating bond it’s possible that the caldron did the same thing. In acowar right before We found out Elain was a seer madja said only can a mate can find out what’s wrong and how it’s a brige between two souls and feyre later described the truth teller that Az gave Elain as a brige between them and she imagined a painting of it. Don’t you think that’s it’s odd Elain’s mate couldn’t find out what was going on with her but that Az did and how madja said the mating bond is a bridge between two souls but Lucien said it was just a thread? Lucien is a fae and he grew up with knowing how the mating bond works and knows it’s importance and history but he did not know what was going on with Elain but Az did. There also a conversation Rhys and feyre had about About Az and Elain potentially being mates and Rhys talk about how the mating is not a love match and is based on who you can reproduce better with and he brings up his parents and tamlins parents and their failed relationship and how they were wrong for each other.with Maeve faking the mating bond and Az being almost dead when Elain was turned far, and Lucien becoming her mate it’s a big possibility that Lucien is Elain’s fake mate and that Az could potentially be her real mate. The parallels from tog and acotar and sjm confirming that having two mates is possible and her not confirming it or denying when Steph brought up the two mates thing it is 100% possible. “ the cauldron purred in Elain’s presence”, “ Elain’s eyes brows twitched towards each other. The queen with the features of flame. The shadowsinger angled his head. Lucien muttered to me, eyes still fixed on Elain, should we -does she need?she doesn’t need anything Azriel answered without so much as looking at Lucien. Elain was starting at the spy master now - unblinkingly.we’re the ones who need... Azriel trailed off. The cauldron made you a seer.”

One last thing before I end this post Azriel can smell eluciens mating bond and can’t stand the smell of it. He also said “the third was give to the another ” and Maeve said “so your mate was given to another” . I think that speaks for itself.

People always talk about this moment as Jesper falling in love and Wylan being encouraging to Alby but let’s also talk about how for a moment Wylan got lost in the music and he looked so peaceful he seemed to forget where he was. Like he was transported back to his childhood, playing music & all was well.

Let’s talk about how, yes, he was being encouraging to Alby, but he also probably saw a chance and jumped at it just to play the piano again, yearning to feel the keys under his hands, desperate for a moment of comfort. For a moment he was not Wylan Hendriks of the Barrel, he was Wylan Van Eck, playing music with his mother in their house again.

Then as quick as Wylan allowed himself to get lost in the music, that peace quickly shattered and reality crashed on him. He seemed to catch himself and pulled a mask on, retreated immediately back into hiding again.

The subtle change in expression? Jack Wolfe just knows how to break my heart 😭😭😭

Inej: don't worry, I have a few knives up my sleeve
Jesper: I think you mean cards
Inej, pulling knives out of her sleeves: no, I do not
