Is there a reason why medication needs to be censored? I don't see how something millions of people need everyday has to be spoilered while things like weed and alcohol are fine? (Not that I think they *should* be censored, but between medication and like smoking, you would think the actual harmful drug would be under the "Don't Do Drugs" sign :/)

Thanks for the ask! We initially chose to filter all medications because it can be difficult to differentiate between helpful medication and harmful or abusive drugs from an unspecified pill bottle. However, this ruling is old and we are currently overhauling our rules / filters, so it may be changed in the future. Stay tuned for updates!

No, that would count as tracing, which is not allowed on Art Fight at all. You're free to use that base as a reference, though; just not allowed to directly draw over it.

I'm hoping to enter my first artfight this year and as such have been obsessively reading over the rules as the fear of doing something wrong dictates.

Although I did that, I was wondering the stance on fandom ocs, characters of my own creation that were created for an existing fandom and the regulations around them if I only drew them and no other characters from that media.

Sorry if this is a stupid and obvious question, I did read the rules but my brain couldn't get a definitive answer from it,

Hello, and no worries at all! Characters made as part of an existing fandom are very much allowed, though be sure to credit the media / creator somewhere on the character's profile.

Welcome to Art Fight, we hope you have fun participating!!! Here are some tips:

  • Make sure you're using a font that is easy to read in your profile
  • Give some basic info about yourself (what should others call you? etc.) and what you like to draw! Are you more inclined to draw humanoids or ferals, or do you take on any character type?
  • Do not include any eyestrain elements (predominant bright colors, flashing imagery, chromatic aberration)
  • Be aware that scrolling through dozens upon dozens of images in the profile section to get to your attacks, defenses, and characters can turn others away

If anybody else wants to offer suggestions, feel free!

Making preparations is absolutely okay and very encouraged! Just make sure that anything you draw before the event isn't being used during.

What happens if you create a "base" that you draw over while Art Fight is happening? Would it count as a premade attack? I assume this wouldn't be allowed but I want to make sure.

Bases on Art Fight are not allowed in attacks, period. You would not be able to reuse any assets in subsequent attacks!

Co-owned characters are welcome on the site, and both of you are free to upload them. Be sure to mention that the character is co-owned, and who co-owns them, so that they aren't reported.

No, user ages & birthdays are not automatically listed on any profiles whatsoever. Of course, it's your choice to give that information, though do be careful in regards to online safety!
