I have a book published, I have several short stories floating around the internet for free and a few in magazines/anthologies. I'm Black, I'm autistic, I'm a lesbian. We live in such radically different worlds... My dad raised me on old school hip hop/was a dj/was there when rap was born so I was exposed to a lot of it as a child, I literally cannot being uncultured like you honkeys.

Actually I'm overstimulated... The place where the play was put on was super hot and crowded and I was the only one masking (except when I dipped my lil soda) so I'll be unwinding to some ass shaking music

If there's one thing The Beef trending (and just a long time spent in music communities) has taught me it's that people really do need to broaden their horizons on the kinda music they listen to, in regards to black music.

The sheer amount of people I've seen go "is all rap like this" or "I don't like rap but..." is killing me. What exactly did you think rap was about before this? Quick, give me a reason that won't expose your racial bias.

Before this I've gotten so used to seeing posts that basically look like "I love all music except blues/soul/gospel/hip hop/jazz". Basically just anything that isn't a white dominated genre.

You'll shit on an entire genre built on generations worth of history and culture (that you have never listened to btw) and then have the audacity to act surprised that it's not what the media has convinced you it is?

Fat Ham was nice! A black gay reimagining of Hamlet! It was really cool and conceptual, the ending was a little lame/felt like a cop-out but I get why they went with it!

I'm obsessed with Hamlet, like that's MY Shakespeare play, and I fucking go crazy for every adaptation.
