there is something horrifically grim to it, but illustrations for gaza and palestinians tend to catch more mass attention that actual photos of people. this made me feel incredibly helpless for a long while, seeing both how people would rather look at a neat drawing of red black green and white than look a human in the eyes, and how online platforms would rather push a viral drawing while suppressing those begging for help at the same time.

a way to cope with this feeling has been taking advantage of it to directly guide people to helping palestinians.

if art gets better traction, then there’s an incredible amount of good that can be done by creating art that immediately links to fundraisers. creating art of the many images of those who are asking for help.

within hours of posting my drawing, there has been jumps in the thousands for bashar from gaza’s fundraiser. it’s a small effort in the grand scheme of things. it’s not a fix it. but it’s something good. please take care of each other and do what you can. i think this could help a lot of people if a lot of people did it.

here is bashar. i’ve drawn him, spoken to him, and known him now for a few months. any shares help, any art helps. draw who you see, draw what you see. thanks all

Palestinians fleeing by sea:

On the day when the ‘Israeli state was born’, 15 May 1948, Palestinians had to flee Jaffa city by sea.

the reason i shared my great-grandmother's story on here a few months ago is not for sympathy or anything, its to illustrate to you just how deeply, deeply anti-Palestinian the idea of zionism is.

i remember my grandmother, the one who watched her mother die in her home, she called us with a plain tone of voice, and she said "she asked to be buried in [her village] but of course the the zionists wouldn't let that happen." the thing that will not leave my head was the way my grandmother said it, the way it just seemed so natural and so obvious to her. my grandmother is *not* a quiet woman, she yells everything she ever says, whether happy or sad but this she said softly. like she was resigned to this, she expected this.

this woman was exiled once from her village, then again from Palestine, then again and again and again and eventually forced to live in poverty in a refugee camp, she knows the 'israeli' state more intimately than anyone i know, she knows what it will and won't allow in its genocidal apparatus and to her it was obvious that they would not respect her mother's body or last wishes. she knew that.

and i always go back to it when i see discussions on here or on twitter or in academia, like you guys (the moderates, the apologists) have never ever spoken to a nakba survivor or a naksa survivor. you don't know just how deeply its affected our families.

so when we ask you to completely reject zionism, when we demand it from allies, we aren't saying this to be stubborn or nonsensical, we're saying it because we know where zionism will lead us. we've been through the "we just want peace" and the "we need to just talk it out" phases already, how can you not think we've been through those phases after 75 years. we've had our meet and greets and our appeals and now we're at literally the worst stage of genocide against our people and you're still insisting on "talking it out" or some variation of it.

the truth of the matter is that we don't have patience for zionism anymore because look where it got us. look where we're at. even soft zionists, you need to stamp those people out from pretending they've got good points, or that you need to build community with them or whatever. we are literally at the worst part of Palestinian history ever, we need to stop pretending there are grey zones to this. Zionist apologists and the like are creating ambiguity that literally gets our families killed under the guise of "complication". I'm sick and tired of watching these same discussions over and over again about how "Israel is a result of antisemitism" when it very much is not. I'm sick of seeing people who know NOTHING about colonization push their own agendas and provide cover for zionists to do whatever they want. Just stop talking about things you don't understand because I promise you, you're directly contributing to the violence you claim to abhor.

454 Sudanese killed in 1 city in 5 days. Thanks to an ally of the U.S. settler colony.

Instead of putting pressure for 1 issue for the U.S., turn it into a pincer attack. Target their allyship with UAE and target their financing of the zionist occupation. This cannot continue.

This was made to be a fun joke blog ot whatever but for the love of God donate anything you can spread information talk about it in your families call your reps!!! 5 calls palestine is a website that gives you a call script please email your reps about a free Palestine North Gaza is starving and millions are trapped in Rafah. Please keep protesting keep boycotting in everything you do

You can donate to the unrwa!! Or the PCRF, Go to their website! There's also ways to send e-sims, look at my recent reblogs!

If you can't donate at all that's OK, no need to justify or tell anyone that you can't. You can go to the BDS website as well to boycott Israeli goods, which costs no money :)

Though to anyone who says "I can't do this or that," just do what you can! Everything counts! Do as much as you can!

Just keep talking about Palestine. Keep reblogging and sharing about it as much as you can on all socials no matter the followers.

Nakba Fact #2

“We thought it would be a matter of weeks, only until the fighting died down. Of course, we were never allowed to go home.”– Nina Saah

The Palestinian Nakba marks the displacement of more than 750,000 Palestinians, three-quarters of all Palestinians, who were rendered as refugees overnight. To this day, Israel refuses to grant Palestinian refugees their right to return.

Nakba Fact #3

By the end of 1948, two-thirds of the Palestinian population was exiled. It is estimated that more than 50% were driven out under direct military assault. Others fled as news spread of massacres committed by Zionist militias in neighbouring Palestinian towns like Deir Yassin and Tantura.

I would like to emphasize the serious need for funds in Mahmoud Qassas' case. His brother in law has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and he needs medical attention RIGHT AWAY. For months they've been in tents unable to care for him properly and without regular access to the medical care he needs to survive but right now the Rafah invasion and the destruction of local hospitals has made it completely impossible to access. He is immunocompromised and even a minor illness can nearly kill him or even cause asphyxiation. They've had so many health scares with him and taking care of him in a tent with no medical equipment is a battle everyday.

Please help them get to Egypt so his brother in law can have the care he needs.

Please help us and donate to save my brother with special needs, and move my family to safety

Artillery shells are falling near my tent
I have an electricity surge as a result of my injury in the 2014 war, and today, as I was thinking about leaving Rafah and going to the Zawaida area, and I was protecting our children from the missiles, I was very tired from what happened to me, and I had a strong cramp in the street.
Take care of our circumstances. I am sick with an electrical surge, and my brother Muhammad is one of those with special conditions. My wife’s mother has high blood pressure, and as a result of not having the required treatment and giving her an alternative, she suffered a stroke in the eye.

You are seeing our condition.. Please donate to save my family

Mona Beniamyn is a 48 Palestinian aka a Palestinian with Israeli citizenship the demographic zionists love to tokenize

In the immediate aftermath I remember Mona not posting on her story for weeks. Another 48 Palestinian actress, Maisa Abd Elhadi, I followed posted two stories, was snitched by a former coworker, and was placed under house arrest. Her comments on ig from israelis were very much the "how dare you! You earned your fame because of us 😡😡😡"

The sense of entitlement israelis feel owed by Palestinians is insane. What's interesting though is that this population of palestinians with Israeli citizenship have always been treated like their palestinian identity is completely disconnected (hence the "arab-israeli" ID) and proof of "israeli democracy and cooperation" but since 2021 when they rose up in Lydda, Haifa and yaffa the israeli regime is now treating them like this "5th column"

Do you know anything i can donate to for palestine that's not the gofundmes because the idea of having to choose who needs my money more is just. scary to me they all need it 3: maybe there's a thing that splits/distributes money evenly???? idk but help would be appreciated

Gazafunds actually deals with this anxiety and makes a decision for you if you want. Their home page has a spotlighted fundraiser and the code consider things like how close the gfm is to finishing, when the most recent donation is, etc. So it's randomized to help as many people as possible.

There's also @helpgazachildren which if you donate, you can help multiple people at once since it's a whole mutual aid fund, or at least close to it. Hussam distributes money to people who need it when he's asked.
