Does anyone else sometimes get irked when they see people hating on a character you like?

Been seeing that recently for various fandoms and I'm just like: "Don't say anything Strata...they're allowed to not like a character. It doesn't hurt you, don't let it affect you. You really dislike Zenos, but there are a ton of people who would climb that psycho like he was a tree--even if you don't understand why...Let people like and hate things. Don't say anything and cause drama."

Anyways, I just want to see if it's just me. I'm a bit odd and sometimes take things a bit to personally. Trying to figure out if this is one of those things.

Although it does seem like the consensus for Skadge (swtor) is the same all around. Kill him when you get the chance. lol

So I was feeling a bit nostalgic and decided to read an slightly older fic of mine. This one took me WAY fucking to long to complete, a good year and a half. Mostly because I kept going back and editing what I wrote instead of writing more for it. lol I’m still super proud of it. :3

I know I've been poked twice for the song game for the username thing...I'm just not a music person. I'd want to do songs that represented me, and I just listen to stuff I think sounds cool to me. Also, my username isn't the one I use anymore, so I'd be breaking the rules if I did.

So I was hit with a bit of inspiration for Doc...no particular reason at all...-cough cough- ------------------------------------- Doc poked his head into the Kai’raan’s room.

“Hey, I’m about to head out for some drinks and…” Doc stopped and tilted his head as he looked at the Jedi master sitting in his chair, reading something from his datapad. It wasn’t the fact that he was reading that made him pause, it was the look upon the other man’s face that did. “Everything alright, Kai?”

Crimson eyes blinked a few times before they looked up at him in bemusement. “Yes, why do you ask?”

“Well, you look like someone’s kicked your akk puppy,” the medic said as he leaned against the doorway, jacket hung over his crossed arms.

“It’s nothing, really,” the Jedi tried to say before Doc snorted.

“Right, sure…you know you’re lying to someone who knows everyone’s tell in sabbak on this ship, right?” the older man asked, raising an eyebrow, “That includes Lord Stick Up His Ass.”

Hey! Thanks for taking an interest in my silly headcanon!

Hmm, not really sure how to answer that first question. I know Sylvari forms are based off of the Pale Tree's knowledge of Ronan and human biology. And unless otherwise stated, I kind of stick with that. Gender is a social construct, so for me it makes sense that the Pale Tree formed Sylvari into humanoid forms that take on more feminine or masculine features. They're going to be dealing with the other races and having a form people could relate more too probably helps. Plus, I see Sylvari as being very social.

Hmm, perhaps they actually start out more androgynous then start to change their appearance to match who they are and their own likings. Not sure if I'll put that in my own headcanon or not, but there it is if anyone wants to play off the idea. lol In all honesty, I really don't equate gender to reproduction. There are plenty of men, women and non-binary people out there who are unable to reproduce but that doesn't make them any less of a man, woman, or person. For the second question, I do not really have a separate headcanon for that. As stated above, I stick with what we do know--the Pale Tree's knowledge of humans. There was an interesting theory about her being planted on top of a human burial site making her more akin to a blighting tree, but that was just a theory someone wrote...somewhere. Probably reddit. However, with the fact there is at least one other Tree we know about (and one ArenaNet never brought up during Heart of Thorn! -shakes fist-) the whole thing with Ronan can be called into question.

Sylvari Headcanons

Headcanon 1: So, as a race, I believe all sylvari are able to change their appearance to suit who they become once they awake from the Dream. And not just features like hair and clothes, but facial features, eye color, bark/petal/skin color, voice, gender...EVERYTHING. They're living sentient beings made of compacted plant matter that bleed golden sap and are born fully grown, so it doesn't feel like it's out of the realm of possibilities. When they do want to make more drastic changes, I envision them creating some sort of pod where they slumber while the changes are made. It would take a few hours for smaller changes and a couple of days for larger or more complicated ones. I was rather inspired by Canach's transformation from boy band member to heavy metal drummer. Although I just read a lovely post from someone about him being a hawthorn tree, it fits him rather well!

Headcanon 2: This one concerns their lifespan. I believe sylvari are ageless. Because they don't age like the other races, there's a good chance a sylvari could live for thousands of years—as long as something doesn't come along and kill them (or they get themselves killed).

Headcanon 3: It's not safe for work (NSFW) because it deals with their anatomy—more specifically, the lower bits of most male sylvari... >.>

I don't know what it is, but I can't seem to get into Baldur's Gate 3--and I feel super bad about it.

From outward appearance it seems very much my thing. I can create a character (spent more time in the character creator than the game, I swear...song will forever be stuck in my head). It has choices and romances (I want to romance Astarion and Karlach)! Interesting characters galore and beautiful scenery! But I can barely get to the part where you see Wylls.

I have started more than a few times to see if maybe it was the class or what not. I know the overall gameplay isn't entirely my cup of tea in terms of the over head isometric feel--definitely more of an over the shoulder type of person. I found that using a controller over m+k helps a bit in that regard, although it's very odd for me to use.

I know do get annoyed when I seemingly need to quick save constantly because I don't know if there's gonna be a cutscene soon and I might pick a wrong choice or roll really low. I know I like things playing out in a certain way and it's sometimes difficult to do so--yes, I am weird, I know. I also feel a bit lost at time, and while I love exploring in games, I hate accidently progressing something too fast and missing something. Sure, I could just let it play out as is because that's what happens in DnD, but I never feel like this when it happens in DnD so I'm not sure. Granted, I am a very newbie DnD player.

-sigh- I don't know. This is driving me batty.

By now people have played it several times over and I can't seem to even get a full hour in (not including character creation). I honestly feel left behind because I can't get into what is an amazing game from a kickass studio.

Sorry for the rant...I'm not even sure if it makes any sense. -sigh-

Maybe I'll try again and just force myself forward with it? I'm already sticking with the story driven version because I'm not a min-maxer with this type of thing. Stick with Warlock or Sorc for cantrips and simple fighting.
